I’ve heard a barber argue that that Earth is flat because your ears pop when the plane gains altitude

That's up there with Steve Harvey's "If we evolved from monkeys why do we still have monkeys" theory.

Classic min-max build, like a restaurant that always takes forever and is sometimes just closed at 7pm for some reason but the food slaps every time.

u/SoulPossum ☑️ 2d ago
Place by me was only open for like 3-5 hours every day because it was basically a "while supplies last" situation. They'd cook a certain amount of stuff and when they ran out they ran out. I only got to eat there once before they went out of business and the food was awesome. But only being open in the early afternoon when most people in the area are working was not the strongest business decision

u/bryanramone 2d ago
I mean if they sold out every day and still closed, seems like the easy fix would be make more for the days?

u/SoulPossum ☑️ 1d ago
Not necessarily. They weren't really selling out because they were popular. They only made enough food for what popular restaurants can clear in like an hour and it took them several hours to move it. They had limited capacity because they didn't really run a kitchen in the traditional sense. They just had several slow cookers of food. It wasn't really a sustainable system

I loved my neighborhood barbershop in Memphis and usually nodded my head and smiled along until they started talking about how the Holocaust was a lie and some fringe Black Israelite nonsense. Had to stop going after that 😞

HBCU Football Championship Half Time Show with Lyfe Jennings and Charlie Wilson would be a certified hood classic.

The best barber i ever had didnt believe space was real (yes and idk what he meant by that either i tried asking). so this checks out

u/Black_Doc_on_Mars ☑️ 2d ago
I broke up with a girl because she thought space wasn’t real. Of course the Earth was flat too.

u/No-Tower-5119 2d ago
I stopped messin with a girl cause she said a shot of the earth in a video game wasnt real. Not because it was a game, but because humans have never been to space.

Super hot nuclear take: I think barbers are in the Artist category of professions, and my experience with professional artists are they are not always the sharpest tools in the shed.
You get a couple of them here and there that end up as architects, or intellectuals. But as a rule, a lot of them just don't build on their critical thinking as they grow older.

u/TedKoppelz 2d ago
Barber said to me once that black people's hair grows straight up bc its their antenna to the universe. Playing along, i asked, "white people don't have them?"
He confirmed my suspicions.

u/XLauncher ☑️ 2d ago
I used to go to a barber shop where one of the barbers (not the one working on me) and the clients would go back and forth on how America was founded by black men and it was covered up because white people were jealous. And when I say 'founded,' I mean these people really believed the Declaration was written and signed by a group of black men.
The cuts were 15 dollars and clean af, so.

My first time hearing about this was during Aces vs Valkeries game earlier this week. These guys are really serious about it too
