Spongebob and Patrick would definitely make anyone's movie experience feel worse

You forgot the part where someone has bad breath, kills two people, melts someone else's face off, and causes one guy to contort into The Scream. /ref

Those are the people that bring loud ass hot food into the theater without being stopped, bonus points if it’s fish based
Shit like that is why I’m happy projectors gotten cheaper

Loud ass hot food?

When I don’t understand slang I just look it up for context instead of waiting for someone to respond to me explaining it
Because after dealing with the crowd that whined so much about “ahh” being self-censorship instead of black slang, Yall are smart enough to do it yourselves

Okay, that makes sense. I thought it was some new kind of meal I haven't heard about yet. lol

"Don't be a Tommy Texter. Let everyone enjoy the show."

u/Working_Welder_1751 1d ago
I remember seeing that a lot before each trailer
In fact, I'm at the theater right now and about to watch Forgotten Island

u/fatboychummy 1d ago
You fuckin Tommy Texter. How dare you!

u/Working_Welder_1751 1d ago edited 14h ago
Hey, this before I took my seat. I turned off my phone once the trailers started
BTW, I enjoyed Forgotten Island. It's really good if you're familiar with Filipino culture

My family only ever goes on Tuesdays because of the cheaper tickets.

That’s why I signed up for a membership at my local theater. I get points now

“Person who laughs at everything” is by far the worst person to be trapped in a theater with.

u/GothamWarzone 1d ago
I remember in high school they had Pulp Fiction back in theaters for an anniversary. The boys all went and we had the laughs at everything archetype in front. Fat dude with a ridiculously loud cackle at every little fucking thing. Like honestly I'm glad he was having the time of his life but man you could feel the energy of that room that everyone just wanted to strangle him after the first quarter of the movie. When it got to the part where Jules said "SHUT THE FUCK UP FAT MAN." everyone else in the theater laughed really loud because its how we felt.

It's pretty bad but the person who brought an entire convenience store of crinkly snacks that they rifle through during the entire movie is worse. Always one person.
6
u/porygon_sucks 1d ago
Idk. Ppl smacking their food on every bite that is so loud I could hear them over them movie? Thats rough
5
u/THEpeterafro 1d ago
That may or may not be me because I have seen a fair amount of movies that made me laugh, hysterically, either intentionally or unintentionally through being funny bad, that no one else was laughing at (Mercy, Materialists, Digger, The Invite, Sorry Baby, Bugonia, Marty Supreme, Dust Bunny, Regretting You, and Verity being examples that come to mind)

u/burgerking4 1d ago
It’s definitely you. People who laugh at moments that are not meant to be funny make the experience worse for everyone else.
And I’m not trying to be harsh, but just so you know, this phenomenon of laughing at unfunny movie moments is so closely associated with stupid people that Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia uses it as the moment to expose that Dee is dating a mentally challenged person. Just stop doing it, everyone around you hates it.

Don’t do x rated stuff in the back the cameras can see you lol
6
u/O_X_E_Y 1d ago
There's no cameras in the theatre I work at. But even without cameras the back is actually quite exposed, most people sit at the back and you're elevated over the rest of the theatre, so if anyone turns around they can see way more. The front off to the side is way more covert in comparison

The late-comers drive me nuts because I think the theatre is mostly empty only to have 30 people come in 5-10 mins after the movie starts

u/WindexGorilla 1d ago
In all seriousness the talker or people taking out their phone constantly on max brightness should be kicked out

I remember soon after the pandemic when things opened up, I still wore a mask to movie theatres for longer than we needed to because I couldn’t eat popcorn with my mask on, I’d have to take it off to eat.
I’ve never had so much popcorn ready before the movie since

The late comers are the worst, especially with modern trailers. You had 30 minutes to get here before the movie even began what are you doing here at the 10 minute mark?

u/ScytherSlash 22h ago
Last time I went to see a movie with my friends, some guy was right behind us laughing like a drunk jackal over every single thing. It didn't matter if the scene was only slightly amusing, dude was cackling like a maniac.

This is why I don’t enjoy going to movie theaters.

u/TheOneAndOnlyABSR4 7h ago
Happy cake day. And same. I’m not about to let theaters die out. Not on my watch. Shots the best movie you’ve seen in theaters this year so far?
2
u/Capable-Monk-4820 16h ago
Starter pack aside, I don’t like how they drew SpongeBob’s scream face from season 6-9. Something about it looks so fake and unenthusiastic. If he looks truly terrified, his pupils would be smaller, and more stretching on the expressive. Like drawing an upside down mouth with Simpsons tongues isn’t going to sell as a scream if you don’t exaggerate the rest of the expressions

I love going to the theater. Went around 50 times this year.
1
u/Working_Welder_1751 7h ago
What movies did you see?
2
u/TheOneAndOnlyABSR4 7h ago
Back rooms, obsession, mercy, psycho killer, search for SquarePants, scary movie 6, coyote vs acme, the housemaid, resident evil, hoppers, disclosure day, send help and also older movies they had like The Godfather, inception, Casablanca, gone with the wind, Akira, ghost in the shell And many many more these are just the top of my head.
Tomorrow I’m watching diggers and Thursday I’m watching the shining.
2
u/Working_Welder_1751 7h ago
Nice. I enjoyed Hoppers and Coyote vs. ACME when I first saw them in theaters.
I laso recommend Forgotten Island if you enjoy Filipino culture, mythology and the power of friendship

u/zapata7515 7h ago
Somebody started a fight at my screening of Valley of the Wind during Ghibli fest cause some kids wouldn’t stop laughing. Some guy had it and got in his face and they started swinging. It was at the end of the movie so after it ended I just left hoping no one got hurt. No my monkeys not my circus.
1
u/Working_Welder_1751 7h ago
Did that guy almost punch some of the kids there? I feel bad for those little guys
2
u/zapata7515 6h ago
I really hope he didn’t I but I assume the kids did. I was going to call management but as I walked outside they were already there waiting. Hopefully to issue some warnings or trespasses as the violent behavior should not be tolerated.

u/SilverSageVII 7h ago
Ngl as long as they aren’t distracting, I like watching movies in a theater with other fans. Makes the movie feel more fun.
1
u/Working_Welder_1751 6h ago
Agreed. I went with a lot of people to the screening of The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act, and we all had a good time watching it
2
u/SilverSageVII 6h ago
Not familiar with that one. Whats it about?
1
u/Working_Welder_1751 6h ago
It's episodes 8 and 9 of The Amazing Digital Circus put together, kinda like a double-feature
Also, the series itself is about a group of cartoon characters who deal with existential dread while participating in wacky adventures with their ringmaster
1
u/SilverSageVII 6h ago
Interesting haha. Sounds like a fun time even if I’m not familiar w:)
1
u/Working_Welder_1751 6h ago
The episodes are available to watch on YouTube. I recommend it if you like indie animation
