Technology Solar Carports at Six Flags Magic Mountain

OC: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DecXiDPJLoc/

"Rows of solar roofs shade cars at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California, forming the largest solar carport in the state.

The 12.37-megawatt system has nearly 23,000 panels on 36 structures covering 637,000 square feet (59,000 sq m) and shelters close to 4,300 parking spaces, keeping visitors' cars cool while they spend the day at the park.

The roofs are expected to generate 20.8 million kilowatt-hours a year, roughly the electricity used by 2,900 homes and enough to power both Magic Mountain and the neighboring Hurricane Harbor water park."

They should do this with all car parks that get a decent amount of sunlight.

Plus the cars wouldn't be at a million degrees, when being parked in the sun all day.

That’s super unamerican. Americans voted for more coal and less green energy. You’re dear leader hates this kind of stuff

Man six flags sure is being creative about trying to change the narrative away from the guy they killed yesterday by chucking him off Goliath across onto the roof of another building. (But not before catching the scene on their scream camera, with his 10 year old son sitting next to a now-empty seat while his flailing body sends the 4 people behind him to the hospital)

But yeah. Solar panels from a couple years ago are cool too.
