My cat is from Kuwait so I tried speaking to her in Arabic when I first adopted her and it turns out she doesnt listen to me regardless of language because she's a cat.

My cat perks up when I call her name

She won't do anything I want, but she will ackowledge that she's ignoring me

My cat understands dinner, kisses and outside in my language. Maybe your cat was just more fancy Kuwaiti and understood only "chauffeur", "hotel", "Michael Kors bag"
