Bro is out here single-handedly populating an entire continent and living past a century. Absolute legend.

We all have at least one, even if it’s not a cousin, don’t we? Lol I have a friend from childhood is on number 13. I cannot imagine.

u/Eldistan1 14h ago
What does he do for a living to afford 13 kids?
5
u/Cut_Lanky 14h ago
He married a girl who came from money, got a job working for her dad. Lol. Nothing terribly fancy, but, reliable. And she’s from like, generational wealth… he probably doesn’t really need to work? Idk, I never asked details, lol.

u/lesbox01 3h ago
Wife has 12 siblings and let me tell you affordability was not top of the considerations.

Bet he doesn't pay alimony. He probably doesn't even know all of his kids by name.

u/SaveTheAles 19h ago
He ain't wifeing them up, just having a death roll in the mud.

This comment made me realise I've never seen Crocs mating. Gimme a sec...
TIL: Crocs have a 2 inch, permanently erect dick that they hide in their butts. NICE!

Imagine living up to that. I bet a lot of his offspring are long gone as well

Who counted his kids

u/Holiday_Pi 19h ago
Probably an estimate based on how often he mates and how many female crocodiles he has regular contact with

I remember seeing Henry as a kid and then Henry as an adult a few years ago. Theres a whole story about him, how they captured him etc. Cant really remember clearly, but i think he ate some locals so they caught him iirc.
With regards to his offspring, i remember one year we had floods and a shit ton of crocs kinda... vanished out the park. So who knows where they at now.

Where in SA is he?

u/Deafbok9 17h ago
Scottburgh, at Crocworld.
I initially thought PheZulu, since I know they've had some pretty big water log mimics there, but Google said otherwise.

Its obviously an exaggerated number and so is it's weight. But to even think it would have close to 10k kids and weighs even as close to what it does is fucking unbelievable.

Imagine he has been through both world wars and is still here alive

I'm impressed that he still has enough teeth at this age.
10
u/HunterVertigo 19h ago
That's the most impressive part! Another famous big croc named Scarface has lost all his teeth at 70, yet Henry still has teeth at 120+ years of age. That's pretty damn exceptional even for a croc in captivity.

u/small-with-benefits 9h ago
Well, getting skinned and plucked whole chickens fed to him instead of an antelope giving everything it has to escape his maw probably does wonders for the health of teeth.
3
u/HunterVertigo 8h ago
That and not having to fight territorial battles with other crocs. In all cases, Scarface is much more impressive for a croc in the wild. He survived to his age through sheer grit (and some luck).

Amazing how calm he is with two steak-sized humans nearby.
18
u/CPD1960 19h ago
He’s been around humans that obligingly feed him for 120 years. Why disturb that lifestyle by eating one of his hosts?
5
u/SolidBlackGator 14h ago
Seems like a lot of forethought to assume... I would guess it's more likely he's fed and not hungry. But if he were...

u/YouDunnoMeIDunnoYou 11h ago
His reflex is also not that great anymore so as long as you stay far away enough from his jaw you should be okay.

When he struggled to get the meat off the ground I left bad for that massive ancient apex predator

To be fair it's a flat rib cage so it's going to be difficult even for a young Croc

Would have guessed alligator. Back to school for me.

u/dewihafta 17h ago
Definitely looks more alligator.
1
u/_Happy_Sisyphus_ 16h ago
Agree. When crocodiles close their mouth, they have thinner snouts and you see their bottom teeth in the closed mouth, but when this animal closes their mouth, I only see the top teeth, which is a trait of an alligator.

I'm with you. That snout looks more U-shaped versus V-shaped. Oh well. Like you, I guess it's back to Reptilian School for me also.

Last week the oldest had 0 teeth.. 🥱

u/_Bearcat29 18h ago
Salt water crocodile ≠ Nile crocodile. And there was no claim about being the oldest just that he lost all of his teeth due to age.
-2
u/nad0w 17h ago
So the other one is older that 122 yrs due to teeth loss ? 🙃

Lol I just left a comment about how it gets under my skin he's trying to copycat the GOAT. From his speech patterns to his mannerisms.

Who fathered more offspring Henry the crocodile or Jonathan the giant turtle 🤔
1
u/TerrapinMagus 16h ago
Are you thinking of Diego? I don't know if Jonathon has had many offspring, if any. Diego was the tortoise who helped save his species. Still, Diego only had 800-900 kids.

Its BS story. The crocodile would have lost his teeth at that age. He is NOT as old as they claim.
