It almost feels like mama is like holding the dog back a bit to be like: ok careful, here she is, we are gentle with her

One sniff, then look, but no touching my mini me. Keep your head right next to mine. Mama is teaching her buddy.

I noticed momma cat didn't even touch the dog with paw. Dog just obeyed the mom cat.
