This a mash up of 2 other compositions, most notably Ludovico Einaudi "Experience'

139

u/work_work-work 23d ago

And Hans Zimmer's Interstellar.

32

u/TheBoyardeeBandit 23d ago

One of the best pieces of music in human history, IMO.

48

u/Zoltanu 23d ago

If you think film scores are good wait until you discover Vivaldis Four Seasons concerto

8

u/mybluecathasballs 23d ago

Winter was that period's metal/ hard rock.

9

u/rot26encrypt 23d ago

Or John Carpenter :)

2

u/slom68 23d ago

He uses chords

3

u/withac2 23d ago edited 23d ago

Vivaldi's Four Seasons with Itzak Perlman is on my daily rotation!

4

u/TheBoyardeeBandit 23d ago

Eh I'm not typically a film score fan, but that particular song is incredible, imo.

2

u/psycharious 22d ago

Check out Philip Glass's Koyaaniqatsi

1

u/Fluorescent_Tip 22d ago

…that you’ve heard so far

1

u/dontipitova9 23d ago

Hence, the Interstellar Experience

8

u/That-Resist6615 23d ago

Damm indeed, what a flow to be in, really good music

1

u/Othersideofthemirror 21d ago

Glad you posted that, sounded so much like Einaudi.

1

u/BreatheClean 21d ago

One of my favourite pieces. It gets used so much, I knew it would be familiar in a 'what is that' kinda way to lots of people.

u/kevleyski 24d ago

Ooo nice visualiser, we need more of this

35

u/Geigo 23d ago

Agreed! The visual really added something there!

15

u/TheJens1337 23d ago

6

u/PurplePolishPeople 23d ago

I can dig it

2

u/theblackgate19 23d ago

Thank you! I haven’t seen that video in ages. Love that song.

0

u/kevleyski 23d ago

Early stem separation

2

u/Metahec 23d ago

I need this for Milkdrop

125

u/Orillion_169 24d ago

The music is great, but what really impresses me is the visualisation.

2

u/trailthrasher 18d ago

Literally, stealing this to show my 6th grade band students how rhythm and time work.

89

u/bigeeee 24d ago

I dont know if its me or the video but the synchronisation of the music and the visuals are off and are frustrating me.

15

u/DashHex 23d ago

visuals are ahead of the audio. boooo

5

u/stoufferthecat 23d ago

This. The sound need to play when the dots hit the notes, not when they're disconnecting from them.
As a drummer, my gears are ground!

27

u/winoforever_slurp_ 23d ago

It seems to me that there’s another treble melody that’s not shown in the graphic

3

u/FissileTurnip 23d ago

no, you’re just not seeing it. I assume you’re talking about the part that starts at 0:12. look at the left hand

7

u/winoforever_slurp_ 23d ago

Look and listen closer, that note you mention is much higher than the E shown. There are definitely higher notes being played that aren’t notated

0

u/FissileTurnip 23d ago

how are you able to recognize that note as an E yet still not realize it's correct? pull up virtual piano and hit E6

1

u/bigeeee 23d ago

You replied to the wrong person.

0

u/FissileTurnip 23d ago

why do you think that

0

u/bigeeee 23d ago

Because I didn't say anything about an E I just stated it looked out of sync to me.

3

u/FissileTurnip 23d ago

i didn't reply to you. might be the cause of your confusion.

0

u/bigeeee 23d ago

It definitely came to my inbox!

4

u/stargoo500 23d ago

Same here. The dots go down while the notes go up. But the base line seems to be in sync.

2

u/shockwave_supernova 21d ago

The bottom line is noticeably off the beat

42

u/ShaggyDragon 23d ago

15

u/HamptonsBorderCollie 23d ago

that was worth the watch, thanks!

3

u/thesaharadesert 23d ago

Not me sat here crying over it

3

u/P-L63 23d ago

It kinda helped calm a part of my brain i didn't know was stuck in stress mode. i forgot how healing music can be.

6

u/MaximeCaulfield 23d ago

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JZRjVBmQGo&list=RD_JZRjVBmQGo

Found a similar kind of video with the song OP posted

3

u/DReagan47 23d ago

Patrick Pietchmann is incredible. His arrangements for the Avatar and the Chronicles of Narnia are my favorites

5

u/Elvis_Messi 23d ago

This is pretty good. But I raise you La Campanella by Liszt

https://youtu.be/H1Dvg2MxQn8?is=Sr-_j6ZPdyoplwCT

1

u/PingopingOW 23d ago

Still surprises me how that piece got so much traction

2

u/SICKxOFxITxALL 23d ago

This is so cool, can someone who isn't musically illiterate like myself explain this to me?

I'm guessing this can only be played on an electric piano? Because of the very long holds on some of the notes?

I know there's pedals on regular pianos for holding notes but not for that long, right?

1

u/PingopingOW 23d ago

I mean you can hold a piano note indefinitely, but it will probably stop sounding after about 10 seconds (differs depending on how high/low the note is). An acoustic piano actually rings for longer because there is a physical string vibrating. And he isn’t holding notes for that long in the video

2

u/Er0ck3 23d ago

Thank you that was amazing

2

u/EitherChannel4874 23d ago

Amazing. Truly one of the best pieces of music ever written.

1

u/StuffMaster 23d ago

Yep. Amazing.

-1

u/PingopingOW 23d ago

The arrangement is nice, his playing could be better

15

u/Adventurous_699 24d ago

For some reason I find the visual more satisfying than the music.

It's like I want this feature in Spotify, similar to lyrics. That would be amazing.

1

u/Admirable_Average_32 23d ago

Same. It reminds me of the little handheld football or baseball games that just had the red dots moving around the field illustration.

5

u/Godpestt 23d ago

Oh! Is this the same guy, that was playing piano on his balcony to his neighbours car alarm?

Some parts in this reminds me of it.

3

u/CatTail2 23d ago

Yes, that was an incredible video!

3

u/000Sparkey000 23d ago

https://reddit.com/link/pay5hfr/video/z4kjn6v55oqh1/player

Getting some Animusic vibes, also getting the urge to shake my fist and yell something about "Back in my day..."

1

u/Calumface 23d ago

Holy crap. I remember these!

1

u/Farnso 23d ago

Omg, thank you. This is what it reminded me of

13

u/Kriff 23d ago

Temu Interstellar theme, no dynamics, random arpeggios going up and down, audio out of sync. Yeah, that's a no from me, dawg.

5

u/birraarl 23d ago

It doesn’t sound like Interstellar at all.

1

u/Kriff 18d ago

It absolutely has borrowed a ton of musical properties from Zimmer’s theme, just to the edge of what constitutes plagiarism.

1

u/StuffMaster 23d ago

I have come from. the future to make you happy. --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4y33h81phKU

3

u/PingopingOW 23d ago

He complains about no dynamics and you post another performance with no dynamics 😂

4

u/burghblast 24d ago

Love this

4

u/Aapjes-NL 24d ago

Be amazed by a computer playing a pianoroll.

5

u/Large_Street_8608 23d ago

This hit me harder than I expected. Tears pouring down my face before 6:00 a.m. was not on my bingo card today, but thank you for this. ❤️

2

u/st0pmakings3ns3 23d ago

PTSD from Guitar Hero top level just set in.

1

u/Thisshitaintfree 23d ago

Cliffs of Dover

2

u/pjtpassword 23d ago

That was wonderful. Thank You.

2

u/ze11ez 23d ago

I can watch this all day

2

u/FUThead2016 23d ago

Well this was amazing

2

u/rrenna 23d ago

More of this please.

2

u/KillaVNilla 23d ago

Both the song and visual are beautiful. Only issue is that for some reason the visual and setting it written out has me convinced I might be able to play this song, since it's lots of repeating patterns.

I most certainly can not play this and will definitely meet afrustrating defeat, but I'm gonna give it a try

2

u/beereboa 23d ago

Oh my god this was amazing

2

u/Ozzie-Isaac 23d ago

Just wanted to share this cool youtube that plays the whole installer piece on piano and its pretty amazing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_u5tQeCu5Y

1

u/Sputnick67 22d ago

wow!
Music and Visualisation too!

1

u/Sputnick67 22d ago

You should open a new sub for this one.
Maybe in r/piano or r/filmmusic It is worth it.
Or even r/musicvideo

2

u/kaiser_van_zandt 23d ago

Without sounding too stupid, this visually explained music to me for the first time.

2

u/littlemacaron 23d ago

They are missing a 3rd line. It’s not needed for the whole song but there were two periods of time where a third melody came in and then dropped out and then came back in. I didn’t see either of those two bars accounting for note notes.

Anyone else in music know what I mean? I’m not explaining it well lol

1

u/Hmmm-strange 24d ago

Reminds me of old 80s movie music.

1

u/Skill_Academic 23d ago

Great, now I have to spend all day watching these, THANK ALOT OP!

1

u/Sanctus_5 23d ago

Thank you for giving credit!

1

u/funkeebeep 23d ago

Tony Ann is amazing, he has a video that he does a song outside set to a car alarm and it has forever changed how I hear them. Song: Pulse

1

u/fromoneparent 23d ago

I play mallet instruments. Think marimba, xylophone, vibraphone … While i am playing (when reading notation) this is visually a very decent representation of what my mind sort of sees as though every note gets “tapped” as it moves through time. Kind of hard to describe here in words here …

1

u/Marlboro_Man808 23d ago

Iv been following Tony on YouTube for YEARS.

I love his videos from his balcony

The real song is Cornfield Chase by Hans Zimmer

1

u/k0skid 23d ago

I'm curious did anyone watch either of the streams more dominantly than the other?

I watched the lower one mostly

1

u/HoboJonRonson 23d ago

First off, this is awesome! But can someone explain the trend/appeal of the “For anyone interested…” opener in the title. I see this phrasing used a lot on Reddit, and, honestly, I just don’t get it. Is this add-on really more eye-catching than just jumping into to subject, à la: “This is called ‘The Interstellar Experience’ by Tony Ann”?

Props also for OP crediting the creator!

1

u/filtersweep 23d ago

Totally out of sync

1

u/chatterwrack 23d ago

Makes you appreciate it more.

1

u/CleatusVIII 23d ago

Beautiful

1

u/Farnso 23d ago

Damn, this visualization reminds me of something from the younger internet and I cannot place it. It's going to bother me all day.

1

u/ch3ck18 23d ago

Very cool visuals

1

u/jaevnstroem 23d ago edited 23d ago

This is just a slightly crappy ripoff of the work by Polyfjord, you can find his work on YouTube or Instagram

Edit: I know Polyfjord has a detailed tutorial on how to make this, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with following his tutorials and learning how to make stuff like this, I would actually encourage anyone to learn Blender, it's very fulfilling to be able to create visuals like that from scratch, the problem that I have with it is posting your tutorial results as if they're your own original work/ideas

This is not "The interstellar experience" by Tony Ann, this is Tony Ann learning blender from Polyfjord.

1

u/sage5979 23d ago

Why is it so beautiful

1

u/Hirrokkin 23d ago

Absolutely amazing. Gave me goosebumps and brought tears to my eyes... I could listen to it forever. Truly. Thanks for sharing.

1

u/Mako_Embi 23d ago

Man I wish I could read music 🎶

1

u/CraftUpper 23d ago

Awesome!

1

u/rahilrai 23d ago

Thank you sharing.

1

u/ArcticKimono 23d ago

The sync is off

1

u/LackadaisicalLemons 23d ago

Yes!!! Tony Ann is something really special. All of his works will make you FEEL. He is also wildly humble and very grateful to his fans.

The first song of his I ever encountered was GRIEF.

We played his song DESIRE played as my wife walked down the aisle and the song ICARUS on our walk out from our wedding.

His astrological sign album also struck me to my core. I cannot recommend his music more.

Take a moment to listen to ICARUS, and I promise it will be time well spent.

1

u/ieraaa 23d ago

the audio is lagging behind

1

u/T-Pocalypse 23d ago

For people who have trouble with “feeling” the beat, this is a great way to give a visual representation of it!

1

u/DangerousRemote9496 23d ago

Que belo 🤩👏👏👏👏👏🥲

1

u/Gold_Ad_5525 23d ago

The video is completely wrong compared to the actual audio notes

1

u/eegsynth 23d ago

The kind of annoying stuff some kids like to play on those free train station pianos

1

u/DarthAgahnim 23d ago

I was too focused on the race like a game of marbles. Kept rooting for the right dot to win!

1

u/skloie 23d ago

Lovely

1

u/No-Clue8751 23d ago

Well done

1

u/evilpercy 23d ago

While watching this I realizes that each line is a different hand. So basically it is like each hand playing different songs that compliment each other. I can't walk and chew gum.

1

u/Year3030 23d ago

If I learned how to play that song would people pay me money?

1

u/FoxySlyRedHead 23d ago

Does this require two people or can one person do it all?

1

u/Worldwide19 23d ago

That one part i thought it was going to break out into the silent hill song.

1

u/Sa0t0me 23d ago

Thank you kind person, this made my day .

1

u/No_Second_344 23d ago

I've never been able to visualize written music, and I still can't but this sure seems cool to me.

1

u/hemorrhoidhematoma 22d ago

Those are some talented balls

1

u/figuringthingsout__ 22d ago

Is there a link to find the sheet music for this?

1

u/Sputnick67 22d ago

That visualization blew me.
What software is this?

1

u/hyjackresponse 22d ago

This was cool to watch.

1

u/robin_888 21d ago

This reminds me of this CGI music automaton from around 2000 where the steel balls bounced of strings and drums.

1

u/Like_a_stone4815 21d ago

For a second I thought I was listening to music from For All Mankind.

1

u/ThatCharmingGirl468 21d ago

The visuals added something to it❤️❤️🔥

1

u/MaterialAd730 20d ago

Why is nobody bothered that it is not correctly synced? Almost had a stroke watching this

1

u/DiuhBEETuss 19d ago

I feel like I could’ve learned to read sheet music and play piano if I could’ve seen it represented like this when I was younger.

1

u/Narrow-Duty7390 19d ago

Beautiful 👏👏👏👏👏

1

u/Das_Zeppelin 18d ago

Would watch this animation in Rush E

1

u/Unable-Performer-191 18d ago
As precise and accurate as a mathematical formula.

1

u/noko85 17d ago

I think the movie interstellar is just a commercial for the song.

1

u/Tom_Danos 17d ago

Plim- plim- plom instensifies

1

u/SuitableUniversity68 9d ago

oh hey i can play this on piano yeah i liked learning it

1

u/MrRuck1 24d ago

That is really good. Thanks.

"People liking the things I like is so annoying"

0

u/Admirable_Average_32 23d ago

Because it’s beautiful Bubbly. It’s ok to feel bothered by it if you are but it’s also ok for others to continue to use and enjoy it. Earth would be a pretty boring place if we all loved and hated the same stuff.

0

u/Farnso 23d ago

Maybe stop watching so much tiktok. I barely ever see the theme used anywhere
