Lived there for a decade and itโ€™s fantastic, Iโ€™d even call it underrated as far as us cities go (I work with a lot of international clients and it doesnโ€™t seem to be on peopleโ€™s lists really compared to New York and LA).

Underrated is a very fair description. I get why someone would choose NYC for a vacation if theyโ€™re into art or theater; the Art Institute is very good but canโ€™t compete with seeing the Met and Moma on the same trip. But as a city, Chicago is beautiful, unique, and very livable. And a better vacation spot than LA.

I totally agree, but not with the very livable part. The winters feel distinctly unlivable to me.

"unlivable"??

I mean it's rough but let's not be dramatic

Might be because I'm a CA native, but even after a few Michigan winters, Chicago in July was something else else.
