Click the orange chevrons.

Nearly a decade since I bought this game, and I just learned that I can click the orange chevrons under the turn sequence numbers to help me prioritize kills. But you have to be pixel-perfect with hovering the tip of your mouse on the chev.

The initiative bar in general is very useful and not well explained in the game.

I’m finishing my third play and still don’t really understand it. Especially when I try moving not sprinting so I can do a sensor lock and my turn is over as soon as I move. Only seems to happen on the first round or two.

That's odd. You should definitely be able to move then sensor lock. Unless you're moving so you lose enemy contact I can't think why your turn would just end.

I can’t either. Just happened again earlier today. Subsequent turns everything works as it should. Feels like it’s somehow tied into the turn/initiative system.

I think this may be because in the round you make contact with the enemy you are allowed to finish moving everyone who has not moved that round. But that is it. Then a fresh round begins and you get all your actions as normal. Think of the round you make contact as a courtesy round to adjust positioning。

This is the answer!

Makes sense. I sometimes Brace my lance so I’m guaranteed a normal turn.

I guess you mean that clicking under the initiative bar on the various symbols wiki focus on the respective 'mech?

It's also useful to understand to which factions they belong when you have multiple factions and they're still BVR

Yeah. It can still be a little tough to discern which one is being shown if they're in a cluster that's one hex/dot (or whatever movement spaces are called in the HBS game) apart.

Need to try this!

Also you can hit escape on the travel cutscenes as long as the Argo isn’t attached to the jump ship. Took me having someone here ask about it before I experimented and figured it out for myself.
