Thank you for submitting a photo of your cat(s) to r/BathroomBuddy !

We have a photo contest running through the end of the month. Winner of the best photo submitted will receive a Reddit award!

Let your kitty be the star — crisp, close-up photos that show off their face and personality have the best shot at awards.

Bathroom angles can be tricky, but photos that clearly show your cat’s expression will help your entry shine.

If your post in r/BathroomBuddy becomes popular, we hope you will consider crossposting it to other communities to give our small community more exposure!

If this post breaks any of the rules, report it and the mods of this sub will look into the post.

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

Translation: “Alone!? What were you thinking!? Something could have happened! Don’t worry, never again.”

Yea I know it was just 1 meow but that it’s like Cantonese- catonese if you will

just adopted a new cat, she's Feeling overwhelmed, Scared and unsure of what is happening. Don't eat or drink. Shuts down and wants to curl up or hide. Do you have an idea for cats??

u/i_am_groot8890 Aug 03 '26

I have this exact one!

3

u/JessAnnaBun Aug 03 '26

Hmmm, I made my own. Didn't know these existed. Guess, I should have. 🙃😉🤣😂

2

u/catsandalpacas Aug 04 '26

Lol I have a toilet swimmer too!

1

u/JessAnnaBun Aug 04 '26

She treats the toilet like it's her throne. She jumps up on the tank, even if I'm using the facilities. So.... figured the sign was best way for company to know what to expect. One of my 1st indoor cats thought he was a dog. He drank out of the toilet. So, closing the lid has been standard practice for me since 1997 🤣😂🤣

u/Gestrwaterfall Aug 04 '26

Cats have it all, admiration, an endless sleep, and company only when they want it... what do you love about cats??

u/Imma-smartypants Jul 31 '26

You are very lucky to have been rescued by this wonderfully attentive kitty. Otherwise, who knows what could’ve happened to you!

Completely unrelated, but your cat is so adorable! Congrats on the new addition to your household

21

u/Beneficial_Lobster12 Jul 31 '26

How dare you think you’re entitled to alone time! Shame on you!

20

u/AllesK Jul 31 '26

Safety first!

6

u/MysteriousCommon9512 Aug 01 '26

Yeah, who knows, you might fall into that hole and require a rescue!!

19

u/Sagi_U Aug 01 '26

well, it's in the cat user manual, should've read before agreeing to terms of service

5

u/Hiw-lir-sirith Aug 02 '26

Nobody reads the TOS

15

u/Winter_Cat-78 Aug 01 '26

One of mine runs in and immediately jumps up and curls up on my lap. Such a weirdo.

6

u/Lirahs Aug 01 '26

Mine too. 💜

17

u/Competitive-Top4520 Aug 01 '26

Yup. My boy has a no closed doors policy. I have to warn guests to make sure the door is tightly shut. I get a chorus when I take a shower (it doesn't matter if he's inside w/ me or outside wanting to get in); I can't stand drafts when I shower so it's a price I'm willing to pay.

u/nuttnurse Aug 01 '26

Welcome to the potty potty.
“Your emotional support cat will be with you in a second.”

8

u/MrsAngieRuth Aug 01 '26

Oh, lord. My husband will let the dogs in the bathroom while I am trying to poop! The door starts opening, and I'm like, "Dude, I'm pooping in here!" Here they come. "Oooo, mommy. Whatcha doing? Making stinkies?"

7

u/cakivalue Aug 01 '26

That was a lecture to never do that again. 😹😹😹

7

u/7GrenciaMars Aug 01 '26

Cat is looking out for you. In the wild they are vulnerable when doing their business, and are sometimes known to look out for another in such moments.

Your cat is concerned, is all. 💕

2

u/m00nhowl3r Aug 04 '26

My 2 definitely think they are protecting me. They will come in, meow, sniff around a bit, and then promptly sit right in the doorway looking out. They are like little bodyguards and its so adorable.

2

u/7GrenciaMars Aug 04 '26

I had a cat who would yell at me while I was in the shower, because water = danger? 🤣 Literally every time I would shower, he would stand outside the door yelling and yelling like he thought I was on fire. I would talk back to him, and he would keep up the conversation. I loved that cat so much. I miss him every day.

6

u/Eiffel-Tower777 Aug 01 '26

Congratulations, sharing is caring ♡♡

6

u/Accurate_Elevator368 Aug 01 '26

In peace, ... yeah, that's a thing of the past. LOL

5

u/MegLaurelwood Aug 01 '26

And you will never go alone again. You got yourself a bathroom attendant.

6

u/duney_mag Aug 01 '26

Never again. Sorry.

5

u/Melodic_Anything1743 Aug 01 '26

nope privacy is gone! 😁

4

u/PonqueRamo Aug 01 '26

Remove the bell from the collar, it hurts their ears.

-1

u/MysteriousCommon9512 Aug 01 '26

Mine learned to walk so it won't ring

3

u/geoduude92 Aug 01 '26

Why would you want to poop in peace?

3

u/ExtremeExperience199 Aug 01 '26

My boy used to enter the bathroom and sit as sphynx directed to wherever I was, eye contact always. And then he would get the zoomies for some reason.

3

u/addacoupleextrazeros Aug 01 '26

Congratulations..

Or sorry.. conCATulations

3

u/tikasaba Aug 01 '26

This is your life now. For at least (God willing) 15-20 years.

3

u/No_Thanks_1766 Aug 01 '26

Well, yeah. Everyone knows that you can’t poop or bathe without kitty’s supervision 🙄

2

u/lordfarshave Aug 02 '26

The bathing I can understand. The pooping? Um...

3

u/Welshmans_Layla99 Aug 01 '26

Get used to this - it's your life meow.

2

u/Derezirection Aug 01 '26

Welcome to being a cat owner! 😂
You're on THEIR schedule now.

2

u/PreferenceOld6364 Aug 01 '26

Welcome to Cat Parent Life, just wait til kitty decides to start sitting in your pants while you're on the toilet 😂

2

u/Realistic-Rate-8831 Aug 01 '26

LOL. Too funny. Yep, that's a cat for you. They have to know what's going on at all times. You will get used to it. I leave my bathroom door open. My cat always comes in to check on me when I'm in the bathroom whether I'm putting on makeup, taking a shower, or going to the John.

2

u/Hot-Judge-7481 Aug 02 '26

They didn’t tell you about this? 🤣

2

u/myshtree Aug 02 '26

No, no you cannot.

2

u/FlameGoddess Aug 02 '26

Voiceover announcement: "Welcome to the bathroom. A cat will be with you shortly."

2

u/BrutusoftheTudus Aug 02 '26

Can’t ___________ in peace anymore..

Friend for life, that can be a bit creepy. Learn to love it..it pays off

2

u/Spirited_Onion_2420 Aug 02 '26

2

u/Squellbell Aug 02 '26

Here comes kittyyyy

2

u/Velour_Tank_Girl Aug 03 '26

But you have the most precious r/cowcats.

2

u/notafan888 Aug 03 '26

Welcome to the club

2

u/teaky Aug 03 '26

I’m not sure how true this is, but I think they do this to protect you since they are vulnerable when they go in nature. Or maybe they just miss your face.

2

u/Charming-Dish5120 Aug 03 '26

Cat:Why you trying to get away from me?

2

u/poopshute2u Aug 03 '26

This is in my bathroom

2

u/its_calamityjen Aug 03 '26

She’s protecting you when you’re most vulnerable!

2

u/Jon_E_Mammoth Aug 03 '26

Our 17-year-old beagle who is a rescue was definitely raised by cats. She gets right in your face. She will literally jump up on a kitchen table to drink milk out of your cereal bowl. And when I’m trying to take a dump in the morning, she pops her head in the bathroom. Fortunately for her, it also means she has nine lives because she’s eaten entire boxes of cupcakes and crayons, and somehow managed to live to tell the tale.

1

u/Humbi93 Aug 04 '26

I also have a poop buddy he never gets onto my lap except when I'm sitting on the toilet

1

u/thismagicmoment2 Aug 04 '26

My soul cat looked like this and he did the same thing! He also knew how to close the door afterward. Such a smart little guy

1

u/Clear_Spirit4017 Aug 04 '26

They know your hands are still clean! They may get something out of it like rubs, scritches, or a whole massage depending how long you are in there.

1

u/JarOfFlies85 Aug 04 '26

I just call mine my personal pooping guard now lol

1

u/Saxy1973 Aug 04 '26

There's going to be a lot of things you can't do in peace now.

1

u/Gar_Bear1 Aug 04 '26

At least you left the door cracked. God forbid I shut a door in my house! My cats loose their minds if I do that. 😹

1

u/anubis_cheerleader Aug 04 '26

You're safe now.

1

u/husbandmonster Aug 04 '26

Same for a dog too

Princess appreciates the love y’all.thank you!!🌸🐈

1

u/esmesauce Aug 05 '26

Oh she’s beautiful! Very sweet, very princess 💕

1

u/No_Freedom_5741 Aug 04 '26

Please take of the bell. It's so bad for cats.

1

u/Forty1thirty Aug 04 '26

Nope, you are not permitted in the bathroom ever again without your security detail. Thems the rules.😁

1

u/Heal_Me_Today Aug 04 '26

The cat doesn’t judge you for the smell of your feces. Some would call this unconditional love.

1

u/computer__angel Aug 04 '26

My cat runs screaming and bodies the bathroom door every time I close it. Otherwise she's perfectly normal. I think she likes being an annoying weirdo.

1

u/AcrobaticMetal3039 Aug 05 '26

He comes in just to tell you... you stink

1

u/raynior1562 Aug 05 '26

Very nice 🙃
