That’s exactly how my boy is; he cry-meows so I keep the shower door open a bit! 😅🤣

I have a shower stalker myself. Either he’s on the ledge between the shower curtains, or on my mini washing machine next to the tub. 💯. Every single time, without fail. My “Chuck Chuck,” Chuck Norris. Atleast he’s quiet about it though. Silent stress 🤷🏻♀️

Most kitties don’t like showers or baths. They get so concerned that you would do something without them!

u/RedRixen83 Mar 15 '26
Can we…can we get an action video of those meows? She is legitimately freaking out and I really want the full experience of that cow cat having…a cow.

Mine tries to climb in the tub then gets upset when her little feeties get wet. 🙀😾

u/Dzx66 Mar 16 '26
SO ADORABLE 🥰 My cat is the same way! I no longer shower with her in the bathroom because she sees to stay calm if she’s outside the bathroom door while I’m showering, every time she’s accompanied me during a shower/bath she’s freaked out and panicked EXACTLY like your cat!
Btw your cat is soooo cute haha I love the adorable little teeth . The last pic looks like she’s saying “MOM I TRIED WARNING YOU THE ENTIRE TIME WHY DID YOU JUST STAY IN THERE WITH THE WATER?!” 🥰🥰🥰

u/ChicagoThinkTank Mar 16 '26
Chicago is actually hiring lifeguards. Idk if you’re close but see if they’ll qualify

u/lanebetta1999 Mar 17 '26
Her panic is what made my day special lmao. That face is so funny. Like she’s screaming at you lmao

u/Bad_Here Mar 17 '26
Mine is there with me as well when I am in the bath. Cats kinda love water. She could be just excited like mine does, she loves to watch the water go down the drain. When the water is gone she jumps into the tub!

I had a childhood cat that would sit on the bathtub ledge and dip her sweet little tail in the water and keep me company. Absolute legend of a cat. We love you Gobnait!! ❤️

My Tigger did the same thing every time I was in the shower the first couple years I had him. He’s 15 now he doesn’t care so much about the shower, but if I’m in the bathtub, he always gets up on the side and makes sure to splash around and drink my bathwater lol

Human....that's water, it gets you wet, why are you willingly doing that to yourself ? I'm worried about you.

u/Anxious_Trash_Panda_ Mar 15 '26

My cat used to sit outside the shower and just cry until I got out. Pretty convinced she thought the water was killing me and I was too stupid to realize it 😂

Mine tries to get in or drink my water so I have to kick my shower stalker out of the bathroom whenever I take a bath

Maybe it reminds her of when her previous owner disappeared for the last time while water was coming from the sky.

My husband and I joke that when our cats act like this when we bathe or shower it’s because they think we are drowning ourselves because we are big stupid cats that are bad at being cats. 🫣🤣

Dang. My cat runs out of the bathroom when I turn the shower on. It’s every girl for herself I guess. 🤷♀️

When Mama is in the rain closet, they will scratch at the glass doors. I crack the shower and give pets. They worry that I am drownding.

Cats often feel anxious when they can't see us i.e. the shower for instance. They will often meow loudly outside the shower. They feel protective of their guardians especially if you've really bonded with them and they follow you everywhere.

Thank you for submitting a photo of your cat(s) to r/BathroomBuddy !
We have a photo contest running through the end of the month. Winner of the best photo submitted will receive a Reddit award!
Let your kitty be the star — crisp, close-up photos that show off their face and personality have the best shot at awards.
Bathroom angles can be tricky, but photos that clearly show your cat’s expression will help your entry shine.
If your post in r/BathroomBuddy becomes popular, we hope you will consider crossposting it to other communities to give our small community more exposure!
If this post breaks any of the rules, report it and the mods of this sub will look into the post.
