Rule #9 has been posted as a further explanation regarding our automod, specifically around the phrase "fuck cancer". We review each of those as they come through and approve them as quickly as we can. It can be frustrating so we wanted to add some transparency to how things work to keep this place supportive. Cancer is horrible to many people, their friends, and families; and we are happy that the community at r/bald can provide some minor relief to those managing the awful disease. Fuck cancer.

Was holding on to my hairline for far too long. Shaved it all off. I like it much more . Clearly not sober in the first pic. Had some substance abuse problems back in those days but I’ve been sober for almost 7 years now . Bald and sober .

I'm struggling with my hair too much. Every two month I' m like "OK let it grow again, it looks better". ( spoiler alert: no) And one month later I'm still with a bad hairline and all.
Hope it's my last big shave, I bought a 5 blades razor and will try to start a shaving routine.

Thank you to everyone in this community for the support to take the final plunge. I feel so damn liberated and free now. Absolutely zero regrets!

Been struggling with the decision. Do I commit to baldness or try to save it?
r/bald • u/Look_Im_Not_Sure • 11h ago
Obviously its time, probably long passed. My question to you all is this: after making the change, how do you deal with folks who may look at you differently? "Well, I liked the way it looked before." or "It looks okay."
Im not looking for parades and fireworks, and Im sure ill be happier (seeing your faces 'after' is a big motivator), but what about your loved ones who might be...less than supportive?

Turning 41 in two weeks and figured it was finally time. I was very adept at wearing a hat so I don’t even have a good before pic lol

Would I honestly pull off the bald look?
It's time, isnt it?

I have difficult, thin curly hair. It’s been thinning out for years now. Maybe not now, but I think my time is coming.
Have we reached the “he should just shave it off” phase?
I can’t grow a beard at 32. Photos are after ~4 days no shaving. First four pics are how I style it now, last two are combed back out of the shower.
Bald council, I love this sub and your uplifting positivity and hilarious comments. Please offer me your wisdom.

Went Bald out of respect for someone I knew since I was a baby.

Is it time? Might just skip the barber this round and shear the head. Or should I wait until the beard fills out?

Trying to grow a beard for the first time in my life (2 weeks in) to prepare for when the hair has to go. The harsh bathroom light has answered some questions for me already 😬

Had a significant bald spot on top and a receding hairline, so I just decided this battle is not happening and buzzed it all off.

I'm only 27 and have grown my hair out for 7-8 + years at this point, I’ve been terrified of pulling the trigger on the ultimate decision but i am open to hearing others opinions…

Used to be told by my dad I’d go bald early in life and it used to scare me, but now I’m 29 and love being bald.
