What do you do for work?
Hellooo I am new here, I have been really struggling lately with not knowing what to do for work, and my future. I am 19 and I’m struggling a lot with my current job and I am wondering what you guys do for work? What have you found helps to cope with burnout from working? Lately I find myself going to work and then having little to no brain power left for anything else, which is causing a really exhausting issue. Currently I do custodial work full time. I clean multiple buildings a day with 1-2 other people. I like that I am able to kind of do my own thing, and I like that it keeps me on my feet and active. Really it should be the ideal situation but I’m really struggling with it. I also feel this pressure to work a more serious job, but I have no idea what I want to do, what I’m even good with and I’m scared to go into a career that I end up hating. I’ve done hard jobs before, so I feel like I should be able to just handle it, but me “handling” it is me in burnout and survival mode which leaves me with nothing. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated :)

I work remotely as a proposal manager for a consulting firm. I don’t have many client calls, since our sales people handle those, and I’m usually able to keep internal meetings to a minimum. Unfortunately my company is a very small business and the micromanagement from leadership is pretty toxic, but I think because I have no commute and I’m able to guard my free time pretty well, it affects me less than it would if I were having to go into an office and mask all day. I enjoy that I mostly get to do focused work on tangible tasks and I’m not stuck in a large volume of pointless meetings.

Aerospace. 9/10 I get left alone to do the job I was hired to do and sometimes I get to telecommute.
