Anyone else getting these text?

Awfully suspicious right before the midterms lol. Seems like Republican chicanery. Got two today. Guess when you have nothing else to run on you have to lean into culture war bullshit.

The URL is for the Transgender Education Network of Texas, which seems to be a legitimate organization.

It is. They are not sending them. The strategy is to point back to a legit org and make it seem innocent. The point is just to get folks angry about transgender issues.

Do you have evidence for this? Because the texts are written in a very neutral way and link to the real resources from TENT, so it seems like TENT sent them to do public education

Do you genuinely think theres an lgbtq+ org that is mass texting Texans about ‘bathroom guides for trans children for the school year’, well into the school year?

The website is real, the texts were made to trigger republicans….clearly

They didn’t.

Any legit org, like TENT, follows basic guidelines laid out for texting via 10 DLC. One of those is clearly IDing the sender in the message. It’s like the most basic rule for mass texting.

The number was registered a few weeks ago. It’s using a fucking Midland area code.

This is spam. This is political drive by. The number will be dead in a week and they will move on by the time providers shut it down.

Shit, yeah, you’re right about that with the violations of texting guidelines. This is such a bummer, because I was glad when my sister-in-law got the text because it’s a helpful resource

Seem like you are a level headed person who evaluates facts without emotions clouding your mind.

Would you please send a mass text to everyone in the state to encourage logical thinking? I'm sure you can afford the time, money, and wages to get help sending so many texts.
