495 and 496 Project Courses Spoiler
Has anybody done any of the project courses, and would you be able to share your experience?
I'm looking to do the 495 and 496 Biology Projects. I don't have any lab experience, so it would all be literary research. Is that realistic to do?
On their site it says field, experimental or lab work for BIOL 496, so I'm worried I wouldn't be able to complete it. Any advice would be great!

APA formatting
Hello, I am working on a research paper for ADMN201. I need to create a title page in APA format but who do I put as the teacher/prof?? Would it be the academic experts of the course or the course coordinator?

Meetings with tutors?
Im new to AU and unfamiliar with the concept of individualized tutors. I was wondering what should I use them for. Just writing help? Or do people talk about other stuff with their tutors? One of my courses is a bio course, so I'm not sure what help they could give with that
I have been taking these courses for over a month and haven't reached out yet, but extra help is always nice. Also, are you guys just communicating over email, or do you meet over Teams?

PSYCH Course Tutor
Does anyone else have Brent Snook for a psych tutor? All I have to say is, this man deserves a raise. He marks things in like, 2 hours. Also, any tips and opinion for the PSYC 304 exam are welcomed

Issues Accessing Articles?
Is anyone else having issues accessing required readings as articles in D2L? I cannot, regardless of what I am trying. The page just stays loading for far, far too long. I am signed in everywhere, Safari or Chrome, the same issue.
Edit, same story for links in the Digital Reading Room. Anyone else?

Issues with readings in the DRR?
Wondering if anyone else is experiencing issues with opening any and all readings from digital reading rooms today? I keep getting the error "Error reading from remote server".
I have already tried going into incognito mode, trying different devices, and clearing caches.
Feeling stupid for not saving the links before the school went on holiday!

Masters of nursing references
Does anyone know if matters who provides you a reference? Like would it be better to use let’s say your consolidation teacher or let’s say a nurse educator that supervised you during employment on-boarding?
Thanks everyone!

How do I find out who my tutor is meant to be right now?
I need to email my tutor for assignment 3 but she sent out an announcement earlier this week saying she’s had an emergency and doesn’t know when she will return to work. Who do I contact and where do I find their information?

Poor experience with Admin staff, wouldn't recommend it's a degree mill
This University was a complete waste of money, I did well but we're taught 0 skills their Administrative staff should be students at their own university to teach them proper education and customer service, almost 0 support i rate this university 2/10, complete degree mill. They won't be around in 5 years. Who holds the admin accountable is the question

Will Athabasca university be around in 5 years?
Athabasca University’s undergraduate degrees may offer less competitive value in today's evolving job market compared to traditional institutions. To maximize your investment in education, it may be wiser to explore mainstream universities that are better equipped to keep pace with rapid industry changes.....PS i wouldn't buy a AU hoodie lol 😆 😉 😜

CHEM 360
Hello, would anyone be able to help me understand how the assessment works for CHEM 360 (organic chem 2)? Specifically, I’m wondering what the “short answer” on the exams look like. Would it be simple naming or would they be asking you to describe a mechanism? Also, are you required to draw for the exams? I’m confused how that would work through ProctorU. Any guidance would be appreciated!

NUTR 331 Midterm Advice?
I'm preparing for the NUTR 331 midterm and I'm not sure what to expect. I have found the course content pretty manageable, but there is a fair bit of information and I'm not sure how best to focus my study efforts. Anyone taken this course recently and have advice?
So far I've been reviewing the learning objectives, quizzing myself with flashcards, and re-doing the quizzes at the end of each unit. I don't want to go in under-prepared but I also don't want to waste time over-preparing when I have other courses and assignments to work on.
Thanks!

Email from instructor
I started school on the first this month, and I noticed on my first assignment that I need an email from my instructor and I have to reply to it before I submit anything. I still have yet to receive it and the discussion post I made unfortunately hasn’t had any responses lol
I’m just wondering if anyone else has had this issue or if there’s a specific date they get sent out.
Edit: I’m realizing I forgot to add the course it’s ENGL 255 and thank you all for the responses they’ve been super helpful!

Question about start dates and course registration as a full time student
Incoming student. I have already applied and accepted my program. Applied for student loans (Alberta). Only thing I am waiting for is my transfer credit evaluation before I can submitt my Student Financial Aid - Course Registration Plan.
But I am a little confused. From AU site
Under the Full Time Student heading it says "Your advisor will register you into your courses provided funding approval is in place one month prior to the study period start date."
Does this mean I dont get to actually pick what classes I will take in the upcoming semester?
Also I am a little confused as to why I have to start at January 2027? Why cant I just start as soon as my loans come in? Feels like a waste having to wait another 2 months.

Registered in the wrong course
I’ve been taking a few math courses through athabasca online, and I just found out about 4 days after the course started that I’m wrongly registered in Methods in Applied Statistics. I was basically 100% sure I registered for discrete mathematics, and I checked the courses before registering like 50 times, but either I still made a mistake or something on their end messed up.
Either way, am I able to email someone to switch me over to the correct course?
