If it makes you feel any better, Nvidia also has an issue with monitors not waking up from sleep. The most frustrating thing having to force reboot your PC.
Given the prevalence of this reported issue, perhaps in future if a potential fix is included for it u/AMD_Vik, it should be noted as such in the release notes for the driver.
PC idled overnight and it's fine! Driver has not idled itself into oblivion in a period where I could reproduce the issue 50% of the time. I'd generally leave it max a full 24h to consistently reproduce it. However:
No constant disconnect/reconnect sounds while the monitors are sleeping.
Monitors (4k240Hz w/ DSC and 1440p165Hz, both over DP1.4) both woke up instantly and with no re-registering.
I will install it later today and report back btw why is it not mentioned in the fixed issues or at least acknowledged in the known issues in the previous drivers?

So i bought rx 6750xt, dowloaded drivers and i see comments i thought i was tripping. SO its normal ? having so many crashes when monitor go to sleep, or when u go from game to windows? what??
It doesn't for couple of updates now. I have selected Recommended + Optional - it does jackshit. AMD separated updated from adrenalin - now we have bloatware that doesn't do the only job it supposed to do.
You made me check my install and just noticed that im still on Adrenalin Edition 26.7.1. AMD Install Manager hasn't been updating my drivers for some reason...
Brand new updates dont go straight to adrenalin. It always takes a few days before Adrenalin will offer you a new update. Reddit threads like this are the fastest way to find out if a new update dropped. In my experience at least.
3 weeks after 26.9.1 released, the update manger was still saying I was 'Up To Date' with 26.8.1, despite having 'Recommended + Optional' set - I had to install it manually in the end.
Meanwhile Ace Combat 8 just launched with a recommendation on launch of a 6 month old driver. And after rmultiple crashes and a rollback, they're for real.
I regret to inform I just got the same crash in the recommended drivers. Granted, it was after almost 6 hours as opposed to every other mission, but still
Was able to do an entire campaign playthrough without crashing using 26.8.1. A couple missions had random stutters but was otherwise fine on my system despite the warning on launch.
Damn, is that HAGS? I thought my card was borked or it couldn't sustain certain clock speeds or idle modes anymore after a lot of troubleshooting but it's just HAGS that crashing spotify and steam.
Should be listed as known issue, i can confirm i have seen it crash specifically on embedded videos, while it being fine with video players in steam, but i have also seen it crash with every video playback, somehow i still think Firefox issue is separate issue or just Firefox being broken, but having the browser crash and reset it self instead of a driver timeout so much less annoying.
to be clear, if you're getting VCN engine hangs (manifesting as timeouts with any kind of video content) on NV31 and NV32, you can disable HAGS in windows as a temporary workaround.
Please fix these video playback and browser crashes. I am keeping my 7900XT at 26.3.1 because any other versions above cause crashes (I use Firefox and Chrome and regularly watch youtube). I do not do any overclocking. I want to play some games but I am unable to due to driver version requirements.
Heard rumors that its fixed but its probably not, for me it always does it at startup if it does not it will not for entire session, then then the next day it crashes non stop on startup requiring a restart, and becomes so common that disabling it just fixes it for good.
lol you just described exactly what was happening to me. 7800 xt here and I cant even use HW acceleration. Sometimes after boot it doesn't happen. Then a day or 2 later it happens. As you said keeps happening when opening browser until you restart.
No need to disable hardware acceleration just disable HAGS instead unless you are on Windows 10 if so that would be kind of odd, their more issues that drivers been suffering from for months and that gotten worse as well but do not show any obvious signs of driver instability just graphical stability.

This one (NV3X VCN engine hangs) is still in progress, and should be resolved in the next release. Assuming you're on windows 11, you can disable HAGS as a temporary workaround
Forza Horizon 6 is currently broken on these drivers, particle effects either just display incorrectly, or straight up take up your entire screen and even tank your FPS.
Have they fixed the dual moniter driver crashes that eventually cause windows 11 to forget you have a dedicated graphics card all together? I had to roll my 7900xtx back a few drivers to get over it (not at home, so can't give driver numbers).
That one is under very active investigation, although unfortunately we've not been able to actually reproduce the 'device disabled on system reset' part.
I think some improvements to that overall mechanism will be underway. The diverse root causes leading to such crashes are also being targeted. Some of them should be fixed with today's driver, and the rest in the next
I have 5 monitors +ipad with different resolutions and refresh rates on 2 gpus. I have so many bugs... but I guess it will never get fix since almost nobody have a setup like this.
You really need to list all known issues that even AMD own vanguard program users confident about exist in the drivers, including Forza horizon 6 but also issues like RT being broken in World of Warcraft, else it just feels like we talking to a wall thru the bug reports.

Control Resonant works great now. Granted, I am using FG to fill out my refresh rate, but I was running around the field office breaking g stuff and whipping my camera around and the game never stuttered or dropped from my 138fps cap. I'm sure heavier scenes in combat will my drop it but it's working waaaaay better than before.

I'm sorry to report that with these drivers Forza Horizon 6 is having a ton of graphical issues and glitches, with skies turning white, weird textures popping in and a lot of effects behaving erratically. There is a thread on Forza Horizon subreddit about that and I've pinged You there u/AMD_Vik. Thanks for all Your work and if anything will be of help, I'm ready to check it out! Supposedly, downgrading driver to 26.9.1 fixes these issues, but I didn't checked it out yet

With a 7900XTX, where I previously had brief intermittent driver timeouts on War Thunder (that recovered), after updating I now have hard crashes with every attempt to play. I don't even get the driver timeout bug report popup with these now.
Hi u/AMD_Vik I’ve encountered a 100% reproducible fullscreen freeze with the new 26.9.2 driver. Switching any video or game to fullscreen causes the screen to freeze for a few seconds.
I rolled back to 26.9.1 and the issue completely disappeared. I also tried reinstalling 26.9.2 with AMD Cleanup Utility, but the issue returned. It only occurs on 26.9.2 and not on older drivers.
CPU: Ryzen 5 7600 GPU: RX 9060 XT 16GB
Happy to provide any additional details needed to reproduce the issue. Hopefully this can be fixed in the next driver, as I’d like to play The Witcher 3 without having to stick with the older driver.

given this is a new branch, I would be inclined to say factory reset install (the installer dialog may actually default to factory reset on those occasions), though i firmly believe that a regular install should just work, and if that doesn't, hit me up.
So I tried, this way: cut off internet, removed Group Policies block for driver updates, installation (factory reset), put Group Policies back, reboot, reconnect internet.
2 days so far, it seems solid... Adrenalin Panel keeps opening even after some hour of inactivity, before this driver release it stopped popping after some time.

Idk where to report this but whql-amd-software-adrenalin-edition-26.9.2-win11-c while midway installing is crashing for my RX 6700s. The system is rebooting right in the middle and currupting my driver. I have Windows 11 26H2 (26300.9457).
Update: I used amdcleanuputility, first installed whql-amd-software-adrenalin-edition-26.8.1-win11-a, and then whql-amd-software-adrenalin-edition-26.9.2-win11-a. It worked and working properly. Apparently -c version is crashing for me. Hope this helps to someone.
I’m having a problem with the new AMD Adrenalin 26.9.2 WHQL (Optional) driver.
I need this driver because otherwise The Witcher 3 looks terrible due to severe graphical issues. The problem is that ever since I installed 26.9.2, my entire PC randomly freezes and becomes completely unresponsive. I have to manually restart the PC by holding down the power button.
I also got a “Driver Timeout” error once.
I have now gone back to Adrenalin 26.8.1 (WHQL Recommended), which worked perfectly fine for me before.
My system specifications are:
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
I have no idea what exactly is causing the issue. It seems to be related to the 26.9.2 driver, since everything was working normally with 26.8.1.
Has anyone else experienced similar crashes or complete system freezes with Adrenalin 26.9.2? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
The solution that actually worked for me was doing a completely clean driver installation using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller).
Here’s exactly what I did:
I downloaded the latest AMD driver beforehand, but did not install it yet.
I downloaded and installed DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller).
I disconnected my PC from the internet to prevent Windows Update from automatically installing a driver.
I restarted the PC and booted into Safe Mode.
I used DDU to completely remove the existing AMD graphics drivers.
After DDU finished, I restarted the PC and installed the AMD driver I had downloaded earlier.
Then I reconnected the PC to the internet.
Since doing this, I haven’t had a single crash or complete system freeze. The Witcher 3 is also running normally again, and everything seems to be working perfectly so far.
So in my case, it seems that simply installing the driver over the existing installation was not enough. A completely clean installation with DDU appears to have fixed the problem.
If you are experiencing the same freezes with Adrenalin 26.9.2, I would definitely recommend trying a clean DDU installation before giving up on the driver.
Unfortunately, the DDU clean install only worked for about two days. After that, The Witcher 3 suddenly wouldn’t start anymore. I had to skip the launcher through Steam, and then the game started working again.
Now, however, it has started crashing in the middle of the game again, with the same kind of freeze as before.
So honestly, I have no idea anymore what’s causing this. The clean DDU installation seemed to fix it at first, but apparently it didn’t solve the problem permanently. At this point I’m really running out of ideas.

Had to rollback to 26.8.1. Screen freeze when I played Dead By Daylight, you can hear sound and move mouse sometimes, but not response in video so I'm forced to reboot PC. Not sure why only with this game. I tried with MHWilds/World/Rise, Helldivers 2, Space Marines 2, Overwatch , FF7 Rebirth and none gave me trouble or at least couldn't reproduce the issue with those.
AMD RX 9070 non xt.
I know/understand this is an old game but these drivers broke Command & Conquer Zero Hour. When loading into the game, the FPS drops to 1 or 2 or displays a black screen during the opening animation-menu. Reset shaders/rebooted/reinstalled the game. Jumped back to tried and true 26.2.2 drivers and C&C ZH loads up just fine. Using 9070 XT

i'm sorry to hear that. did this start specifically after installing 26.9.2? if so, do you recall which installation method was used?
the jump from 26.9.1 (and earlier) to 9.2 is a fairly significant one. the installer should've prompted a factory reset install. can we verify what happens after running a factory reset installation if this hasn't been done already?
failing that, there's a way to capture useful debug data for situations like this, though it's a little involved. can you take a look at my guide over here and let me know if those steps work for you?
I get driver timeouts with everything all games and even just watching videos, or opening Firefox. Solution was to use DDU, reinstall the drivers only and not install AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition. Issue has gone away.
Just curious how I install this on my Legion Go 2? I usually just use windows update. Do I need to go to the AMD website, download, and install - or will that cause problems?
Will there be a fix for AMD SAM on windows 10 in the future? I had to revert back to 26.3.1 because anything beyond guarantees bugs, crashes and this unsolvable problem with smart access memory.
If you mean the fact that SAM gets disabled after installing drivers, it's been a bug for quite some time, and the solution is basically to restart the PC(make sure you don't have fast boot enabled on power settings) a few times, usually 2 or 3, and you will get the 'hardware settings have changed, please restart etc' pop up once or twice, but after that sam will be working just fine until you update/reinstall drivers again(which shouldn't be too often, and i'd recommend ALWAYS using DDU to uninstall before installing new drivers, keeps things clean, and also make sure to tick the setting that blocks windows from updating/changing your drivers), at least this has been my experience as someone who's been using AMD for the past 3+ years, and i don't update drivers often, as a matter of fact im still sticking to 25.11, until some game i play requires it(i go by the rule that if something is stable, don't touch until necessary)

I have been stuck on 26.3.1 the entire time because all the newer drivers have been crashing when playing Battlefield 6. I tried everything that I have read here and elsewhere and nothing seemed to work beside rolling back to my current driver version.

Im getting random stutters while in windows (win11) like every 10-30sec
I can be dragging some browser window around with constant speed and there is some 0,2sec stutter every now and then, or if I scroll some web page.
Or when I minimize or maximize some window there is stutter (not always) after that.
Never had this issue until just after installing these newest drivers.
I am having an issue with the new Driver where if I click on the Record & Stream tab my whole Adrenalin app crashes. I reinstalled the old driver and it works perfectly fine...?
60 seconds is high as your have to wait a full minute. The time out error default time is too small of a window for windows is. 10 sec is more then enough. Been doing this since the mining days to recover GPU hang automatically and restart it
Hi u/AMD_Vik I'd like to report some driver issues I've been seeing with my RX 6700 if that's alright:
With 26.2.2 and newer I'm getting DPC latency spikes (audio crackling) while watching a 4K YouTube video in fullscreen, having two videos play simultaneously in two different browsers or tabs, alt-tabbing out of games, and adjusting sound volume while in some games. I've tried reinstalling Windows, disabling other audio devices, trying other audio drivers, disabling SAM, reducing PCIe speed and disabling the LAN controller, but the only way to fix this is to go back to 26.2.1 or older. Has such a thing been reported or is mine a unique case?
Driver 26.3.1 fixed driver timeouts when alt-tabbing out of a game at a resolution different than native, but at least for me on RDNA 2 this is still an issue even with the newest 26.9.2. Other timeouts, like when waking the monitor from sleep, seem to have been fixed more recently.
In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, some smoke particle effects can flicker depending on the camera angle. This first started with the 23.10.2 drivers, and still occurs as of 26.9.2.
for 1, i've seen this reported in the past across various platforms, not necessarily specific to a given product or even hw vendor. I'm not sure the gfx software has ever been updated to resolve those cases, however. I do think there may be methods to look into what's happening latency-wise on the system, though. Maybe capturing an ETL whilst reproducing a latency spike can tell us more, but i've not seen other people on RDNA 2, or even specifically on NV22 report this. Latency spikes like that can be driven by other hw resources on the system (i vividly recall a case which was 'resolved' by switching to a newer CPU / platform :/)
