DISCUSSION Biggest gripe with NG+

I’ve been loving the NG+ but one thing that’s sticking out to me is that we can’t use any gadget of our choice and have to unlock all of them again. I also wish we had the choice of having Q’s watch from the start. Not sure if this changes later on but right now I’m off to Mauritania in my 2nd play though and it is a little annoying to deal with.

I remember this was the same with the Arkham games. If it’s strictly a narrative thing and it would break the game, I get it.

If not, they should let us have fun!

Yeah I believe it was Arkham 1 and 2.

You can switch your gadgets though mid mission, instead of waiting for a pre-mission to load out your gadgets, so that's a plus.

I was struggling to find any difference between a new game plus and just a regular first play-through

At first I was thinking "letting you use the explosive pen in unintended stages would probably crash the game".

But no. TacSim proves otherwise. You can easily use all the equipment in most locations no problem.

It would be cool to have any gadget (and maybe every gadget).

I just don’t actually think this is actually NG+. This is just the ability to change outfits at will. Everything else is the same. I agree that I hoped they would at least just open up having 4 slots from the time you get any gadgets and have them all unlocked from the same point. But that just isn’t really what the update is. I’m convinced that the devs said they were making a feature that lets you switch outfits and the marketing people said ‘great, people want new game plus so we will call that new game plus.’

You can also change gadgets mid mission, what else were you hoping for?

All gadgets to be unlocked from the beginning. It seems, for example, that you don’t get the missle gadget until the narrative point in the game that you did before.

For many of us, NG+ means you get all the skills and weapons you achieved in your regular playthrough.

Personally switching gadgets mid mission doesn’t really do much for me. It’s not like I’m going to bother going into a menu and switching every time I want to blow something up instead of dart someone. I’m glad it’s an option for people who want it but that one particular feature is not for me. So like I said, I would like all four slots open as soon as any gadgets are available and just let us have access to all of them from the time we have access to any. That would make it feel close enough to true NG+. But honestly the whole thing is already an improvement so not the end of the world either way.

it is not a "new game plus"!
It is a choose your out fit now that you unlocked some new game.
The only bonus is you can get the proper gadgets when loading a check point instead of needing to load the Q lab check point and playing the entire levels to get to the point you need the damn laser watch band to get a couple collectibles.
