Help - Playstation How is this legal??

3.7k Upvotes

My sister wanted to play black ops 6 again on her ps5. She puts the disc in and it tells her to buy the game. So I look it up and apparently tons of people have had their black ops 6 discs essentially bricked.

Because Activision removed bo6 from the cod HQ launcher. So it's a standalone game now. No matter what we tried; she couldn't get the game to work. So I put the disc in my ps5 and its downloading modern warfare 2 and refuses to recognize the disc as black ops 6. Some people say that you have to use the mobile Playstation app to find the game in your collection as it won't show up on the collection via the console itself.

First off. Im not doing all that. I shouldn't have to do anything. I paid $75 for this game for my sisters and the disc is literally useless because Activision either intentionally or unintentionally screwed up the digital license verification process that happens when you put the disc in.

So my question is this. How the fuck is this legal. I paid full price for a game disc that requires online verification and Activision broke the drm on the disc. I have a friend on Xbox who said he had the same issue with both his disc and the version via gamepass. So now my full price game i paid for on disc is completely useless unless I go and buy the game again digitally.

What the fuck man. How is this legal??? So we can't play what we paid for unless we pay for it again.

Help - Playstation Co-op games for dad and five-year old son?

I live where humans shouldn’t live and for half the year I can’t go outside with my son.

He’s bright, we have played astrobot and we’re playing lots of Minecraft creative mode now.

I’ve heard tell of Split Fiction and It Takes Two. Both sound good enough, but would a five-year old be too young? Is one of those easier for youngsters than the other? Are there other similar ones we could play together that would be easier?

Thanks so much!

Help - Playstation Horizon: Zero Dawn

Hi guys, is this game any good? I have almost finished The Last of Us 2 and I am looking for another good story game to play next. I do love fantasy and sci fi vibes. Worth a shot or am I better looking at a different story game?

Help - Playstation Friend won’t tell me what game he’s playing and I’m dying to know.

So my friend is playing a video game and keeps making comments over voice chat and refuses to tell us what specific game it is but keeps giving hints that don’t help us find it. Me and two other friends are now really invested in trying to figure out the game. Here’s what we’ve figured out so far:
It’s a PlayStation game from 2010 or earlier
There’s something wrong with time in the game but it’s not expanded on
There’s mushrooms with feet *or* something with mushroom feet
There’s apparently theories or implications that it’s post apocalyptic but it’s not explicit or mentioned in the game
There’s a location called a craggy coast or a side pass? And he keeps mentioning getting “mouth-farted on”
There’s a map and secret portals that transport you
A character has amnesia
There’s a bat? And orbs?
Please help I’m dying from curiosity and just looking up game lists of PlayStation games hasn’t helped at all

IT WAS FUCKING POKEMON MYSTERY DUNGEON EXPLORERS OF SKY THANK YOU TO THE PEOPLE WHO RECOGNIZED THE LOCATIONS

Help - Playstation Any games that look and play the most like Death Stranding 1 or 2?

I remember asking a friend about this game during COVID lockdown in 2021. He replied to me: “You already work at DHL, why would you deliver packages in real life and in a video game.”

5 years later I got both of them platinum and they became my favorite games ever.

Are there any other games that look, play and feel the same as DS? I feel as if this game is truly unique and unmatched.

Help - Playstation Should I Sell My PS5? (UK)

So I own all the major consoles. But recently I've noticed, I just don't use my PS5 anymore. But I mainly got it for classics like God of War, but even the most recent release was kinda meh.

Will I regret selling it?

Am I forgetting some big things coming soon?

As I held out for Wolverine, but that was a flop. Kinda think PlayStation hasn't got anything decent going for it now and they're just gearing up for PS6 next.

For context: I own the original first disc PS5. Roughly looking at £300ish with another £100+ for special edition controllers at CEX.

Help - Playstation Games like Astro Bot for non gamer GF

I have a GF that isn't a gamer but she's been playing and almost beat Astro Bot with my help on the harder levels. Im really enjoying it that shes enjoying playing. What are some good games like Astro Bot that I can get her that aren't too difficult but that I can help her on the harder levels if she gets stuck?

She wants to try Horizon next because she liked the Astro Bot horizon level but I feel like it might be too hard for her all around.

Doesn't have to be a platformer. I have a ps5

Help - Playstation Update console and RAM shortage - PS5 now or PS6 later?

Hello,

I am a casual gamer reaching out because I have been eyeing upgrading my current "heavy games" console from a PS4 (I also have a NS2 I use for more casual gaming and Nintendo exclusives). I was looking into the Steam Machine, but having never played on PC and with Steam, I did not manage to enlist for one. Also, 1k plus for a console sounds incredibly expensive to me.

My question for the subreddit is whether it would make sense to get a PS5 now, considering that it has quite depreciated and that I do not mind not being able to play the latest releases, or wait for the PS6? I am afraid that with the PS6, due to the components prices that are around now, it will end up costing an arm and a leg.

So yeah, what would you suggest: getting a cheaper PS5, knowing that it will become outdated sooner, or wait for the PS6 and risk spending a lot for it? Thanks!

Help - Playstation Should I buy a PS5 disc edition?

Looks like I need to get a PS5 in preparation for the GTA6 release. Should I pay extra? for the disc edition? I thought everything was download these days? Do the downloads just take too long or something?

Note: I haven’t really played traditional console games since before COVID (I play Luna and now a little bit of OF) I’m an old guy but I do have kids though they’ve shown little interest in a console thus far so I’m not particularly worried about having too many games in the rotation that they need to be swapped all the time.

Help - Playstation Can someone help me identify these ps5 games?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I’m really curious what these games are. Can anyone help me identify them? (It’s a screenshot, not my tv)
The first one is obviously Dark Light, the second one is Fortnite (I think), and the last one is Red Dead Redemption 2. I’m not sure about the seven games in between. Can anyone recognize them just from the cover art? Thanks!

Help - Playstation Can't figure out why Bayonetta isn't working

I bought this game on my vacation to the Philippines from shopee. When I got it I just opened it to check everything was inside and to read the manual.

When I got home I tried to put it my ps3 and it was making a few weird noises at first before it tried opening the game and displaying an error message. It looks fine with no visible scratches and I've already cleaned it twice after trying it for the first time. It shows up normally on the ps3 menu but when I try and play it it just show an error message.

Does anyone have advice on this or am I cooked?

Help - Playstation Help me choose my next game

Lately, I have been playing quite a lot of RPGs.

I used to suck at this games, but after getting older and trying to understand the rules I really liked BG3, Pillars of Eternity (both), Pathfinder (both), Solasta, Divinity (both) and Wasteland 2 and 3.

I switched to ither games but after just a fewdays I feel the need to go on a new adventure in a new RPG with fantastic companions.

Can someone reccomend me a new RPG? I can seem to find one the appeals to me (I'm playing NW2 but it is too...clunky)

Help - Playstation Is upgrading from a PS5 Fat to a PS5 Pro actually worth it right now?

Hi everyone,

I’m thinking about upgrading from my PS5 Fat to a PS5 Pro, but I’m honestly not sure if it’s the right move.

My current PS5 still works perfectly fine, and I mostly play on a 4K TV. I know the Pro is supposed to offer better performance, sharper image quality and more stable frame rates in some games, but I’m wondering how noticeable the difference really is in day-to-day use.

For those of you who made the jump from the original PS5 to the PS5 Pro: did it feel like a real upgrade, or more like a small improvement?

I’m also unsure because we may be getting closer to the next PlayStation generation. Part of me thinks it might be smarter to keep my current console and save the money for the PS6 whenever it comes out.

Would you upgrade now, or would you wait?

Thanks!

Help - Playstation How do I get the DLC

Hey everyone, I have a question about the 10 years anniversary edition of the Dark Souls trilogy. I've had it for a few years now and I finally motivated myself to play them. How do I get the DLC included? Are they included with the games on the discs? I didn't find any codes inside the box or anything

Help - Playstation should i swap my ps5 for xbox series x

I’m very tempted to get Xbox series x and Xbox seems like it’s got loads more game used to play on Xbox years ago but didn’t know it was so much backwards compatible with I’d clear my achievements up by putting old games into Xbox series x can’t I ?

Just bought ps5 digital though second hand and I like it but after all that PlayStation has announced it’s put me of massively and just bought 2 games but they were discounted only £20 altogether but I’d like some advice and I do like single player games mostly as don’t have to rely on anyone all friends have ps but never online when I am so don’t bother me can always find other players to play with.

Help - Playstation First Time PS5 Owner… Need Your Game Recs

Hi all,

My PS5 arrives today, it’s the first time I’ve bought a new console in YEARS. I really want to get into gaming a lot more, I’ve always just been a very casual player, I live alone and want to get into the hobby a bit more, so I’m not just laying on the sofa doom scrolling my phone.

I would LOVE so recommendations, the main titles I’ve played previously are things like GTA, Red Dead. Spider Man and Halo etc.

I really love open world stuff and would love to explore some huge expansive worlds but not exclusively looking for just open world stuff, I’m not a huge fan of the fantasy genre though. I really love horror, so something terrifying / creepy as fuck would be fun. Really like action / shooter games too. I’d also like to try my hand at getting into online gaming which I’ve never really done before properly.

Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed!

Thanks

Help - Playstation Is my Witcher 3 save corrupted? Graphics mode toggle broken on my current save only (PS5 Pro)

I'm getting worried about my main save file. On my current save, switching between Ray Tracing mode and Performance mode does nothing anymore. The setting changes in the menu, but the game looks and runs the same.

The strange part: when I load an **older save**, the toggle works perfectly. So it seems to be tied to this specific save file, not the game or console.

I have a lot of hours in this save and really don't want to lose progress. Has anyone seen this before?
