Sega Genesis was my first, and Sega Genesis III was my second console. Followed by Nintendo 64 and the brick Gameboy.

The UK. The Megadrive as it's known everywhere else outside of North America outsold it around 3 or 4 to 1 from what I can tell. All my mates had a megadrive and hardly anyone had a SNES. PS1 also absolutely demolished N64 here too. The Wii was probably Nintendo's first dominant home console here. The handhelds were still highly popular but they had no real competition.

Too far to scroll to find this. Couldn't tell you what year it was but I remember my dad got me a Genesis and Sonic Pinball
