For contrast, from 1998 to 2013, Insomniac put out a Spyro, Ratchet, or Resistance game every year. They missed two years in there, 2001 and 2010. But in fairness, 2011 was a two game year.

Somehow they're making games with a larger budget that look like shit, play like shit, at something like a fifth to a third of the pace.

The frustrating part for me, is that Insomniac have enough competence that they have made three really successful games, and they understand the characters. Wolverine being a mid game isn't down to the creative team outside of the Director, but rather an abject failure of leadership.

Really surprised that no game studios have tried splitting up teams to make several smaller scope games at once. Surely those would make more money than one big AAA title that bombs after a +6 year dev cycle?

The AAA industry is in a hellscape. Fortunately, AA studios are doing a lot of good work. Owlcat is probably my personal favorite right now.

Absolute cap

They neither look nor play like shit. Gotta be smoking crack to think Wolverine looks like shit. And nobody is saying it plays shit, its just safe and repetitive.

Also, let's not forget how many ass Ratchet and Clank side games there are.

Even a mid wolverine is far better than like 70% of the Ratchet and Clank IP Lmao
