How so? I get that hating on Ubisoft is standard. I personally did not enjoy 3 and Syndicate as much. But the rest are solid AC games. And Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla were solid RPGs. The company may have fallen off. But it's difficult to actually call the games bad.

Although Shadows definitely deserves most the negativity it got. That I do agree with being bad.

Rouge was pretty bad as well, unity was a buggy terrible mess, also killing off Desmond was a terrible decision.

Rogue might have the best idea at the time due to how much "Assassin good Templar bad" games before are (except for 3, Haytham is a goat, and they bring Haytham back for this one too). The game could have been a philosophical / perspective shift and maybe make us think about the 2 perspectives, but no they have to make the assassin look really bad. Like can there be no nuance???

People who hate on the new RPG style AC games are elitist chuds who have no value in real life and feel the need to spread their hatred (of self) on other aspects in their life, such as these good games.

Because they went from being AC games to being generic open-world RPGs. Decent enough, but certainly nothing approaching the peak of the Ezio trilogy.

Generic my ass bro. Ubisoft offers free access to the maps of odyssey, origins and valhalla because they're amazing recreations of the time periods they represent.

The AC story was never that unique, it was just kinda cool. There was a shit period of like 3 games but the rpg ones are honestly really cool and fun to play.

It just ain't that deep, and frankly it doesn't have to be. Theyre fun and cool, what more can you really expect?

The gameplay loop is the same for all of Ubisoft's RPGs. Far Cry, Ghost Recon, and Assassin's Creed are all the same game packaged in different aesthetics.

So what lmao. Yes, its the same game "packaged in diffe4ent aethetics", otherwise known as a new map and story and a few gimmicks.

I just don't know what the big deal is for people. The AC games are pretty fun, they didn't have to reinvent the wheel every time they put one out. It was a new map and full length story every year or so.

CoD is literally the same game every year, most of them don't even have single player anymore. I can understand being peeved about that.

No one said they're bad games. They're decent games that lost what made Assassin's Creed unique.

I don't exactly see people falling over the annual CoD or Madden release as "Game of the Year" material. I'd put the RPG Assassin's Creed series in the same category - cookie cutter games that are fun enough but take no risk and do nothing new or interesting.

The fym by "solid rpgs" ? You didn't played an rpg just once in your lifetime ? Plus AC is NOT a rpg game at first, the turn-over just came when they decided to use a legendary name to make new games that had nothing to do with the firsts.
