People who ghost tend to feel worse about it than the people they ghost realize. Study also indicates that even a brief reply can narrow this emotional misunderstanding.

Looking for:Dry Herb Vaporizer
 in  r/SeaList •  15h ago

Not sure if you'll get hits here, but Planet of the Vapes sells gently used/refurb/out of box vapes of various types. Worth checking. You can also email what you're looking for and they'll do what they can to help.

Chipping cemented clay off the pan every single night
 in  r/ufyh •  3d ago

The solution for us has been the extra-clumping version of the Petco brand "Sophresh". 4" even in a plastic pan is a big help. Stainless steel is even better. When the boxes get a buildup of any kind I use pet-safe spray cleaner on the emptied interior then wipe out with paper towels.

Any chance of putting the playlist on Deezer, too? Their import function is easy.

Terra Toys will be the bigger hit. One of the few remaining independent toy stores in the nation and stellar by all standards.

I’m lost
 in  r/ufyh •  3d ago

You have an incredible eye for treasures and grouping, I'm very eager to see your refined collection in a more comfortable arrangement.

To get there, you have several options, but it kinda depends on how much energy/time you can expend, as you mention.

What's the timespan you'd like to accomplish this in?

How much time each day (averaged across the whole timespan) after your physical needs and responsibilities are accounted for?

If you were to break up that time by your energy levels and movement ability, how much time can be spent: being still other than sorting, reaching/lifting/carrying, letting other people know you have stuff they might want (listings/posts)...?

Do you have access to a vehicle?

Could someone come over to help in person with any part? Would someone else's presence, guidance, or direct assistance be helpful?

Is paying for any part of potential help possible?

One of my occupations is spreading the joy of unfuckening, and have learned that getting clear time perception, physical expectations, and potential assistance thoughts in order is greatly worthwhile.

How did the "nothing goth or alternative at a job interview" social rule come about in the 80s ?
 in  r/goth •  6d ago

I had a nose piercing redone multiple times partially because certain jobs just wouldn't allow it. Also had bland hair (for my taste/identity) for a long time because shaved sides and colors would have kept me out of corp spaces.

There were definitely folks who challenged the mainstream in various ways and got through being themselves in spaces generally assumed hostile to individual expression, but for the most part being openly, obviously sub/counterculture limited us to a small number of paths, most not fully supportive of maintaining stability. In the USA, many of us compromised as soon as we began needing health insurance.

To me, the ones who held out and able to keep to their core personal aesthetic were admirable treasures of our scene (mostly).

I still get a bit choked up when I see us being ourselves and thriving in places otherwise committed to the status quo/banality.

Meals with the same calories and nutrients triggered different metabolic and brain reward responses depending on processing: ultraprocessed meals causing higher insulin levels, increased energy expenditure, reduced carbohydrate burning and altered reward-system activity
