This is in CT, this fella is bigger than the usual snapping turtles we see around here, any idea what kind of turtle he is?

Hi, I found this guy just walking down the street in the Tampa Bay Area. At first I thought it was an armadillo when I saw it from far away, but as I got closer, definitely a tortoise. Got out to make sure he went home before someone jerk ran over him.

We’ve lived here for five years and have never seen this nor any other turtle on the property. Once on the golf course about 1/2 mile away.

So, this guy's been living in our neighborhood for as long as I've been here. We have a pond/lake and streams on both sides of this road, and he happens to cross the road here and there to get to the other side.
Is he a snapping turtle? Approximately how old?

Help us settle a debate - I'm wondering if it was a released pet desert box turtle, and my husband thinks it is a native ornate box turtle (located in Kansas). It was pretty chill when he picked it up. I'm hoping he's right, for the record. What's the verdict??

My mother found this turtle in our backyard while gardening. We were wondering what kind of turtle this is? Looks to be one of the common ones, but we’ve never seen one of this color before. Size is a bit under 3 inches in length.
Any info is appreciated!

I was driving down a backroad in southern Colorado near the Arkansas river early this morning and unexpectedly saw this guy in the middle of the road. I would think alligator snapping turtle, but they’re not native here and the shell is different. The pictures don’t show how big it was, it was at least 2.5-3’ long. I wanted to help it get out of the road so it didn’t get hit, but when I got too close it snapped at me.
