Well. Reddit, twitter, fb and all other platforms that are used by bots are measuring the interactivenes and screen time of users. Bots help them keep the users engaged bringing more add revenue

There’s a screenshot of a graph on this article:

https://www.primetimer.com/news/bot-test-trends-online-after-ukrainian-strikes-on-russian-data-centers

I’m sharing that article because it has more context about the graph.

The screenshot is from Cloudflare Radar, similar to this graph:

https://radar.cloudflare.com/bots/as13238?dateStart=2026-10-10&dateEnd=2026-10-11

The numbers are not specific to individual subreddits. I am not aware of anything similar to Cloudflare Radar that is focused on Reddit specifically. But a tool like that would be awesome.

At any rate, the Cloudflare Radar data does show a correlation: bot activity decreased across the internet when the drone attacks on the data centers happened.

And, yes, correlation is not causation.

Those links are about a different kind of bot. The screenshots in those links are about yandex (Russia's Google) webcrawlers, who crawl the web to index webpages for their search engine.

The post you replied to wanted to know about proof for social media bots activity allegedly declining because of the datacenter attacks. So far after reading a few threads on reddit about this topic i haven't seen any evidence yet, just the yandex traffic thing which doesn't prove the claim people keep making.

I mod a large sub with 2m members. If you use Reddit’s filters they will remove thousands of bots from your community. If you see bots on Reddit it isn’t the platform doing it, it’s the mod teams choosing to prop up their own activity.

Bots don’t help your advertising or generate sales, the views are also pretty much worthless when Reddit has probably some of the largest organic traffic on the web.

So once again it's a 'we don't keep corporations accountable so they do whatever tf they want' problem. God Bless America.

Thats the problem with our corporations having as much power as they do. They dont need to be loyal to their country anymore. Loyalty is for the poor. Their pledge of allegience is profit. I hope and pray in my time i see the reckoning.

basically bots are users too. thousands of bots means thousands of accounts, which makes advertisements more valuable.

its why they stop counting the bots

it's also why games like world of warcraft are slow to ban bots (and sometimes never do it). a bot account is a paying account, they're shelling out cash just like a real user.
