Holy cow. I went over there myself to have a look-see and there’s nothing. There was one post up about Talarico’s flu and here’s the top comment:

“Metafx • 10h
Conservative
I don't know what is going on with this subreddit, there is a mid-term election a little over 3 weeks away and this weird article on Talarico is the closest we're getting to mid-term coverage and discussion on this subreddit.”

I wonder if he will ever figure out what’s going on? 😆

Slava Ukraini!

lol, that poster knows what they're doing. Now the real test is if it will be removed and commenter banned

Waiting for Trump to denounce Ukraine's attack on Russian bot farms as 'election interference'.

That's energy infrastructure, not data centers, though?

We have a United kingdom Reddit and it’s absolutely teeming with immigrant abuse, not a word today. Brought back my sanity

6

u/jblobbbb 14h ago

Uknews? I had to block it from my feed due to the constant racist shit being posted

3

u/DreamDispenser 14h ago

It’s horrific - makes me realise that I do waste a lot of time fighting bots mind you

3

u/No_Camp_7 14h ago

I noticed similar, had a real “where am I” moment

That's blatantly false I once posted an immigrant who stabbed a 7 year old girl in the face should be deported to the middle of the ocean and they banned me for that despite being in the hundreds of upvotes.

I consider that pretty tame in accordance with the crime but yeah.

Unless your not talking about the main UK sub in which case my bad.

Can somebody smart PLEASE do their magic and show us stats of this?

8

u/arg6531 16h ago

Also want to see this

5

u/_HIST 15h ago

I'm sure we will see some soon enough

u/damontoo 16h ago

Time for Reddit, Inc. to explain this to investors, since they are certainly aware of how significant the bot activity is on the site and are allowing it to fake engagement numbers. Seems like someone should report it to the FTC.

3

u/big_trike 14h ago

An FTC staffed by Trump's stooges won't do anything about it. The only people who might care are advertisers whose clicks are suddenly down. They're going to realize that they're spending a ton of money on targeting people who can't actually buy their products.

3

u/neko 15h ago

They're just as crummy as Musk and always have been.

A reddit founder ran the jailbait sub

-2

u/damontoo 15h ago

That lore isn't true. It used to be that mods could add any other Redditor as a mod to subreddits without their permission/consent. So ViolentAcrez added spez as a mod of that sub who quickly removed himself.

u/Mala_Practice 16h ago

Just checked it out- that’s hilarious!

39

u/Ordinary-Hopeful 16h ago

Is this an opportunity for us to go over there and post legit articles? Try to break through to even a handful of folks who have been inundated with lies for the past 10+ years?

11

u/AskPizza 15h ago

They will not let you post unless you're an avowed flaired conservative and they will ban you if you post facts or contrary opinions. This site endorses that kind of nonsense, don't even engage, just point out how fake it is.

10

u/Enverex 16h ago

You'll get immediately banned. You need to "prove" to the mods that you're a conservative before you can post.

6

u/AdultishRaktajino 15h ago

So a Turing test? (As in to prove you’re a bot)

2

u/yxing 14h ago

that's the opposite of a Turing test but I'm with you in spirit

1

u/gorkish 13h ago

It’s the Voight-Kampff test

2

u/AlterMyStateOfMind 15h ago

Or shadow banned like me lol

1

u/throwawayyy2888 14h ago

Sooooo.... Just say a bunch of really dumb shit?

1

u/vezwyx 14h ago

They'll probably require that you open your comment history to be vetted. Ain't no way my application is surviving that test lol

1

u/Enverex 14h ago

Pretty sure you literally have to dox yourself to the mods. You can't post before hand.

12

u/AlienScrotum 16h ago

I’ve been banned for 6 years. So go for it but you probably won’t last long.

3

u/LindeeHilltop 15h ago

No because it’s fl sired. But everyone can go over and downvote everything into the negatives.

17

u/Nerrien 16h ago

Where do you find your stats? Or is this what you've figured out from general observation?

FYI I'm not disputing the claim, I just wanted to see and realised I know absolutely nothing about finding information about subreddits.

11

u/thestereo300 15h ago

I don't see any difference.

3

u/The_Frame 14h ago

Same here I am confused by this claim. I scrolled to see posts from weeks ago and most posts have 30+-30 I didn't see a single post with 1000s, or even many with more than a few hundred at most

1

u/throwaway928816 14h ago

He's not claiming he's seen there's a difference. He's just reporting there's a difference.

12

u/MortalusWombatus 15h ago

so you are comparing posts that have been up for minutes or hours vs days/week?
Like I wish this was true but seems speculative as of now because looking back at posts from days ago there is also many that dont have a lot of comments or likes

Germans doing this too. All of a sudden everybody claiming the afd bots are gone

8

u/EatMyAzzoli 15h ago

Yeah i just scrolled through “hot” and the posts from 6 days ago have the same comments as now.

1

u/ww_crimson 14h ago

People are literal idiots.

4

u/Nerrien 16h ago

Aha thank you

1

u/Desther 14h ago

A week ago posts have from 1-100 comments and in the hundreds of upvotes

Yesterday it looks even more busy

-9

u/CFDsForFun 16h ago

Ok but that’s a Monday morning in US vs a Sunday all day? Hard to compare like that lol. I’m sure traffic will have dropped though but can’t really count that as proof

2

u/Zungate 13h ago

I sorted submissions by new.

There was an 8 hour gap with 0 new posts (that wasn't removed). https://prnt.sc/qB1TK1ZnfxbE

As far as I can tell, that never happens.

1

u/Bemxuu 16h ago

I'm interested in numbers too =\

17

u/AncientDevelopment55 16h ago

Just popped over and you're right! It's a lot quieter over there.

13

u/Longjumping-Oven4457 16h ago

It's actually gone up by about 40k visitors this week and 2k contributions from its average.  I wonder how many of those are people like us who went to check as soon as they heard about the attack.

5

u/Melkor-The-Mighty 16h ago

Filthy clankers

3

u/CynicalXennial 16h ago

majority of them weren't real, there are very few true conservatives on reddit, they don't like seeing the truth and prefer Fox to tuck them in with a nice bedtime story.

2

u/Disused_Yeti 14h ago

went into one post over there to have a laugh:

"Bruh, Reddit is bots and basement-dwelling idealists. You can’t get traction here with logic or common sense. Typically this sub does a little better than elsewhere, but the anti-American bot farm is everywhere, always."

so close to getting it but just not capable putting it all together

3

u/e_pilot 16h ago

Holy hell you’re not joking.

1

u/electriclux 15h ago

Oh how I wish this were true and quantifiable

1

u/ThatRandomGuy86 15h ago

That's hilarious honestly. Can you imagine how baffled people who frequent that subreddit are now?

1

u/KulshanStudios 15h ago

This makes me happy

1

u/omNOMnom69 14h ago

Repost this article over there. For the lolz

1

u/Moosyfate17 14h ago

I just checked and I'm shocked. Comments dropped in threads from over 1000 to maybe 8 or 12.

1

u/VaporCarpet 14h ago

Yes it is. Russia accounts for 0.9% of global bot traffic, and this one data center was 7.4% of Russia's traffic.

The actual, fact-based impact of this is insignificant.

1

u/guy-le-doosh 14h ago

Yep it's quiet in there. They dragged out some 9/11 pictures to keep themselves going. One suggested it's Democrats and the liberal media saying Mitch McConnell is fine. All that wasted energy towards empty grey matter. SAD!

1

u/CoolAfternoon2340 14h ago

Yeah American conservatives don't exist. Nobody voted for republicans in the elections.

1

u/KrwlngNth3nd 13h ago

i just checked and there are plenty of comments on several posts made today, let's not over-exaggerate on things the way conservatives do. I will agree there is less activity than normal, but not zero.

1

u/Bird_law_esq 13h ago

Is there any public data on it? I believe you but would love to see some data.
