It's pretty well known that you can convince about 15% of the population of literally anything with just a bit of effort. Elvis was actually Jesus reborn? Easy lift. Sky is actually a deep green? Just need to convince some morons that deep green = sky. Trump is a good president? Apparently they work hard to fool themselves since doing otherwise would be admitting that they were wrong to vote for him

They should include a quick intelligence test with the ballot.

  • "Is the earth flat?" - Yes (discard ballot)
  • "Is the earth older than 5000 years?" - No (discard ballot)
  • "Does trickledown economics work?" - Yes (discard ballot) etc.

I agree with you in principle, the problem is that we did that once and they were grossly abused to disenfranchise black people, poor people, and immigrants.
