Adding one more thing. The manufacturer of this roller coaster, B&M is known as one of the most reliable and safe roller coaster makers in the entire industry. In fact, this is the first fatality that has ever happened on a B&M coaster that isn't related to preexisting medical conditions, or someone hopping over a restricted area fence.

I just replied elsewhere bc yeah I didn’t think we’d ever seen this on a B&M before. That’s crazy

Guy was a fat dude and the restraint didn't ratchet to a first click. Not rocket science.

Edit: look it up

Not how this specific roller coaster works.

If someone is too big for a restraint to lock the coaster can't dispatch. And a locked restraint isn't unlocking just because an extra fat person is in it. Especially on B&M coasters.

If someone were to fall out due to body size it'd more likely be someone with an abnormally thin body who doesn't get held in tightly enough by the lap bar locked at its lowest setting.
