I worked security for Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey in ‘87 or ‘88, and a young woman did fall out and die after her seatbelt failed on one of rides. It was so awful.

Lightning Loops or Rolling Thunder?

It was the loops. What I really remember was that she was aware she wasn’t buckled in, and looked at her boyfriend who was seated next to her and said “oh god, Rick…” before she fell. Horrible.

Like that kid who rode that Orlando free fall ride and knew the entire way up that he was going to die when it dropped and he kept saying to tell his grandma he loves her

Omg, I've never heard of that story until now, so thanks, fuck off, I hate you, just kidding. How absolutely horrifying and what a brave terrified sweet kid to keep saying that. Don't tell me anything else now!

Oh my God. I'm so sorry you had to see that and know what you know about it. And her poor family and boyfriend.

Her name was Karen Brown. She was 19. It happened on 17 June 1987.

So sorry you had to be there for that. It must have been horrible.

Good thing it wasn't Class Action Park, at least.

I know like 9 victims of that park lmao I was lucky to never sustain anything worse than a wicked sunburn though

My camp would take us and every time someone got hurt pretty bad from our group. Most of the time it was burns from falling out of the alpine slide. I almost drowned twice in the infamous wave pool (because I was a dumb kid and went back in every time they took us)

I also almost drowned in a wave pool. Luckily my mom saw and sent my dad in to save me. Never went into a wave pool again

Same. That park was a frequent location for the camp I used to attend. Horrifying listening to everything that happened there...
