30 seconds to attach, but a full hour to find the pin you need to attach it if you're a messy redneck who just chucks shit into the toolbox that's bigger than you need but always full because every random tool and strap you've ever glanced at has been stuffed in there
If a friend of mine were still alive to read this, he'd laugh at the truth of that statement, for that described him to a T. Everytime he went digging through his tool boxes he'd grumble he's gonna clean it out and get rid of everything except just what he needs, only to catch him later adding more crap to it.
It’s not easier than a stowaway hitch like the European cars have though. I had one on my golf sport wagon. You pull a lever and it will auto fold away totally out of sight and you can’t even tell the car has a hitch. It literally hides behind the bumper once it tucked away.
It is optional on the European cars here in the states too. I got mine from VW. And my Audi Q6 also had that option but I didn’t wanna pay $1095 for that option since I won’t be doing any towing with it. It’s rather expensive but super neat.
It’s very unsafe to have a 50 lbs hitch in the cab of your vehicle.
Edit : I get you hate hitches. It’s not safe to put a hitch in the cab of any vehicle downvote me if your a moron. They are pickups put it in the box
I was just looking at the first truck with the lid. Second one might also have it? But really you just should keep it at home and only put it on when you're gonna be using it. It's not like that's a spur of the moment thing for the vast majority of people.

It’s pretty easy to remove these adapters.
Pull the cotter, pull the pin, put it all in the back seat of the truck. Done
