This is actually very dangerous to babies in strollers. If a parent is distracted or looking out in the distance they won't realize how close their babies face is to smashing until they are almost upon it at which point it may or may not be too late.
Which is a fair point, but you know what's SUPER dangerous to babies in strollers? Parents that are distracted or looking out in the distance while pushing their baby in a stroller. There's a million hazards out there even if ball hitches disappeared tomorrow.
