5.5 hour coast to coast flight. He boarded before me (aisle). I had to bend down and wave in his face to get him to see me during boarding (I had window). He did the whole audible sigh and dramatic show of how I had clearly inconvenienced him. He finally got up and out of his seat BUT refused to unplug his phone from the seat back charger in front of him, so all 5’ 10” of me had to crawl under his cord to get to my seat. Whatever, turd move, but whatever. Anyway, cabin door closes and I was pretty excited that the middle passenger didn’t show up—until Entiltled Aisle dude decides that all of his spent snack wrappers should be pushed as close to me as possible. And he was very particular about it. Spent several minutes ensuring each wrapper was pushed as close as possible to my seat. What is wrong with people!?!?

I wouldn't have put my hands on their property. What I would have done was walked straight down the path to my seat. If their cable had still been in my way after asking nicely, then it would have probably ended up on the floor as a result.

My more realistic scenario is that my blind ass wouldn't notice the cord, I'd walk through it, probably breaking it, and then I'd spend the entire rest of the flight embarrassed and trying desperately to avoid any eye contact.

I can see someone unplugging it. I would. I’d plug it back in after getting through. These people saying they’d just plow through are full of shit.

I am pretty non confrontational but i am pretty sure that I would unplug it and let it fall to the seat. I would not plug it back in. Phone guy did not uphold his end of the social contract.

I think if I noticed the cord (again, not a guarantee...I don't see well, and I'm clumsy, and the world is my China closet), I'd probably just say, "excuse me, can you unplug that for a second?" If he said no, then I'd probably just unplug it and plug it back in as you say. I don't think there's any version of me that would purposely plow through it though.

Probably most people wouldn’t plow through, I agree with you there. But I’m highly confrontational and typically enjoy teaching entitled fucks a lesson, so I would have not hesitated to plow through and make things uncomfortable real quick. Someone entitled like that often can’t believe it when someone not only doesn’t squirm in discomfort at their passive aggression, but dishes out a serving of their own uncomfortable behavior. However! I very much enjoy your suggestion of unplugging it and then plugging it back in. It says to them “idgaf about your pettiness or your expectations. If you’re just going to sit there, I’ll help myself through, but won’t let you get the best of me…just yet anyway. As you were fucker!” 😂 I can see more shock value in plugging it back in over any other action and imagine it being a bit of a mind fuck for them as they sit in their seat going over what just happened. Very nice 🤌🏽
