Sheep dip - I believe (but may be wrong) that it’s Moore about insecticide and fungicide than getting them clean.

Good, because that water looks dirty as shit

The alternative is horrific. They put a bunch of sheep in a fully enclosed cage and completely submerge the ENTIRE thing completely under the water/dip solution.

The issue is that this way they keep their heads above the liquid and any parasites in the head can spread back into the body. The forced dipping is rough but more effective.

Can confirm, given a lot of homeless cats and dogs flea baths. They run for the head above water. Honestly I would start nitpicking them with my fingernails at that point, so I didn't have to freak the poor thing out with a full baptism.

I think this is the first time in my life I've heard the word "nitpicking" in its literal sense. Cool.

Close but not the actual literal meaning of the word. Nitpicking refers to picking “nits” (louse eggs) from strands of hair.

I truly wish I didn’t know this but I’ve got four kids and have had to deal with lice infestations twice (luckily no adults got them).

Well now you're just nitpicking.

Walked into that one tbh but I didn't see it coming either

I’d like to think that person had recognised the phrase came from ‘insect-pcicking’ and just attributed it to the wrong insect.

What’s really fun is that louse have been such an issue that they get both ‘nitpicking’ and ‘with a fine toothed comb’

“What’s really fun is that louse…”

Methinks you have an odd definition of the word “fun”.
