A 30-year-old Dream Come True
Hi everyone!!!! I am excited and a bit emotional to be here! Dalmatians, specifically liver-spotted dalmatians, are my favorite, cherished breed of dog. They have been since I was 9 years old.
As most of you can guess, Disney's 101 Dalmatians is to blame for what sparked my intrigue in dalmatians, but it was Dodie Smith's original novel "101 Dalmatians" that engulfed my heart and sparked my obsession with liver-spotted dalmatians.
Reading that book as a young child, and it being my first read of an original novel at that, not only introduced me to the world of film adaptation vs. book material, but also to the notion that a Dalmatian existed that had brown spots instead of traditional b&w. It blew my mind- the uniqueness- and I swore one day I'd get my hands on my very own Perdita (Mrs. Pongo was so overrated, haha. Jk)...
Of course, as I got older, that promise became more and more of a distant dream.
However, a month ago, I unexpectedly found myself in a situation that allowed me a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity - to begin my search.
I never imagined I'd find the absolute epitome of a dream come true until I found my Jazmin (Jazzy-May; Jazz; Jazzy-J; Baby Cakes; Pumpkin Pie; Pumpernickel Butt), and now my heart is so full, it constantly bursts.
I turn 39 next month. If you had told me 30 years ago that I'd truly find the dog of my dreams, I never could have believed it.
Everyone, my baby girl!!! I've loved her so much, with all my heart and soul, since before her mama's mama's mama's mama was born! She's my LUA long coat, liver-spotted gal, born June 17, and joined our family on August 21st!

I keep getting asked if she's pure Dal.
My girl Avia is two years old now. People keep asking me if she is a Dalmatian and I'm not sure why. I guess it could be her size, she had a rough start in life and is tiny and only weighs 48lbs. I know it's hard to tell by this pictures cause they always seem to look bigger in a photo. I rescued her and do not have papers but she looks similar to my pure Dal who is deceased now due to old age, just that my older girl was 70lbs. I'm just baffled why people keep asking me this, not that it really matters to me I just adore her.
