Ranking the villains of Chuck Season 4

Post image

Director Bentley wasn't villain per se but she was irritating hence on this ranking.

Already posted Season 1,2,3 few days back check it out.

Ranking is subjective, feel free to disagree!!

Really? Really?? Really?!!

I hardly would put Vivian in A, I always felt like the shift to villain too sudden, too much off screen. Character had potentiel but her ruthless side felt out of place, we don't get it emotionally

I was going to put her below as you mentioned the facts but just for the high stake s she brought for the finale episode I had to put her up there( plus i really like Lauren Cohen).

I love the actress too but if we go from innocente poney girl to ruthless cold murder we need to feel the pain between the 2

I always felt Vivian arc really really stupid.
At the same time, wasn’t that the season with the strike in between, that felt like two mini seasons?

No, the strike happened during Season 1. That's why it had only 13 episodes.

However, Season 4 also was supposed to have only 13 originally, but during production NBC booked them up for another 11, so the writers had to come up with a new storyline.

That being said, I wouldn't blame the lower quality of the second half of Season 4 on that, since a similar thing happened during Season 3 with 6 extra episodes, and those turned up great.

Thanks! I knew something happened that season and they had to fill a hole. As you said, not an excuse anyway.

Agreed. At first she was adamantly against meeting with her father then chuck mentions he might be able to and the world ends when she cant meet him.. ridiculous. I hate her sudden villian arc like barely anything even happened

Timothy Dalton as in Alexi Volkoff is the GOAT villain and Clyde Decker is an F as in should have never been a character.

4

Timothy Dalton nailed that role. About Clyde Decker, lot of people don't like him and I agree with them but solely for s4 finale I liked him as a villain. He got awful lot of power to turn CIA on Bartowski family (after all these years what Chuck n family have given to CIA). They've gave good potential for him for S5 but it got wasted

I did not like Decker even in season 4. The way he played Decker might have fit on a show like 24, but he was way too dark and evil in a bad way to be a villain on Chuck.

I think Decker could have worked as a bad guy but making him a patsy for the IMO needless 2nd return of Daniel Shaw made the character almost pointless.

The fact that he was set up to be the big bad (talking about everything Chuck has experienced in the spy world being part of some plan) and then revealed to be just a front for Shaw made me so mad!

Wish we got to see more of Volkoff/Hartley

Agreed. If they had done a movie in the late 10’s, I would have hoped that Hartley would had a small role in the mission.

Yuri the Gobbler, who eats people, only makes rank C?!?! I hope you never have to meet him in prison! :-)

Or want to be Top Dog.

u/vibeocheck Aug 27 '26

I know he's memorable character. They could've given him more screen time, just for that I lowered his rank. If I ever meet him in prison, I hope my cellmate to be micheal scofield!!

I hate Clyde Deker 😡

u/vibeocheck Aug 27 '26

That's why he's a great villain (could've been). Honestly he had great potential to continue for last season(as how he said in s4 finale that's all part of a big plan), but got wasted

Just watched that episode, again, last night and that was a perfect casting. He is an A and is not an S because only Alexi can have that grade.

Agreed
Jeff: So now... get ready to see some of the scariest things in the world. Old people. Public showers.

Morgan: What's going on, Chuck?

Jeff: Inter-species relationships.

Morgan: Okay. Well, stop now. Stop. Uh, huh, I'll be honest with you, this might be one of the worst things I've ever seen.

Lester: One of the best things?

Jeff: I think he said "best."

Morgan: I don't want any customers in here. Guys, it's scary... but just in a really bad way.

Lester: I give up. I give up.

Jeff: Babies in costume.

Chuck: Really?

Jeff: Is it a baby or is it a snail? I don't know.

I know someone would point that out. But I got your point. Tbh in my opinion he got overshadowed by introduction of (sort of) Chuck's mother in that episode.

3

u/blueboy714 Aug 28 '26

Just because he got overshadowed by Mary is no reason to rank him a D. That's just wrong.

Almost everyone gets overshadowed by Sarah Connor.

In the past 6 months two CIA agents got closer to volkoff industries than any other spy. They're GHOSTS. They expertly use public transportation to avoid being tracked. shows picture of chuck and morgan

So tell me, who are these master spies?

His delivery of the lines took me out 🤣

3

u/vibeocheck Aug 30 '26

Never seen them. Don't know.

Nah Heather Chandler needs to be put higher than C, season 2 (Chuck vs the cougars counts). There is almost no one that gets Sarah this emotional and mad.

I know she's good at pushing buttons but in s4, it was an decent guest appearance. Although I've put her in top tier in season 2 ranking, check that out on my page.
