Cat Picture - OC Gf brought home a cat that i don’t want. Now me and him are best friends.

As title says. I wasn’t a fan of owning a cat, and always told my gf to please not bring one home. After months of her insisting, we finally agreed to go to the shelter and bring one home. It’s been 9 months now and I’m fairly confident i have the best cat ever. His name is Monoco, and he’s constantly sitting or sleeping on me. This little
Guy even helped me propose to my girlfriend. He had surgery on his eyes while in the shelter due to his eye lashes growing inwards, and is believe to be 6 years old. He was found in an abandoned house.

Edit: typo in title. To answer some common questions
1. She said yes and i am engaged
2. His name is from expedition 33. Love everyone that caught that.
3. As far as i can tell, and the vet, he’s healthy. He does have regular check ups.

Cat Picture - OC I’m allergic to cats and moved into my bfs house with 2 being told they are independent and don’t like people. Can someone please explain why this is happening?

I thought they were supposed to leave me alone. They follow me around ALL day like children. These pictures are from ONE DAY! I have an appointment with my allergist on Tuesday.

I think I’m gonna need shots 😫

Roxanne my 6 year old tabby has never been left alone more than 1 day. We also never "free-feed" her on kibble (only wet meals and a puzzle feeder). I had a work trip this week, and my S.O. had a family emergency out of town right in the middle of it. We could not secure a sitter, and we were so worried. We do have a pet cam, and I told my SO to put 2 plates of kibble per day plus extra plates in case of a delay. I just got home from the airport to see this. I know cats are not like dogs, and they are probably fine at feeding themselves. I'm just so impressed by the organization of her eating habits!

Lord have mercy! Ms. Ivy is a whopping 18lbs! This lovely bowling ball of a lady was a medical surrender. Here’s to hoping we can shave some pounds off and get her to an adoptable weight!

We are located in Southern Ontario, Canada if anyone is looking to adopt a big girl with a lotta love to give 🖤

Cat Picture - OC Thea has heart surgery tomorrow. Asking for all the good vibes. 💙

Meet Thea! We adopted her from a rescue on Saturday, knowing she was born with a heart defect called a PDA. It's a blood vessel that was supposed to close after birth and never did, so her heart has been working overtime her whole life.

Today she had her pre-op consult with the cardiology team at Texas A&M, and she was cleared for surgery. The resident told us it's the largest PDA he's seen in a cat, and her heart is almost twice the size it should be. Somehow she's still here, purring and judging us like nothing's wrong.

The good news is this defect is fixable. Surgery is tomorrow morning, and if it goes well she gets a real shot at normal life.

She's staying at the hospital tonight and we're headed home already missing her. If you have a second, we'd love any good vibes, prayers, or stories of your own heart or surgical warriors. I'll update after surgery! ❤️

UPDATE 1 (10/7): Got the call from the med student that she was stable overnight (& very sweet) and they're proceeding with surgery. She's rolling into the OR at about 9:30am CT and they'll give me another call before starting. Next call after that is when she is out of surgery. No news is good news, so I'll be reading all your comments and love during that waiting period. Thank you again to everyone who's come to leave Thea some love since this was posted last night.

UPDATE 2 (10/7): Surgery started a little later than planned because the team had an emergency procedure to do first. Her surgeon called to introduce herself before they began and walked us through everything. It’s 10:30am CT when they said they were heading in to begin. They're expecting a few more hours, so no news is still good news. I'll update as soon as she's out. Thank you all for holding her with us.

UPDATE 3 (10/7): SHE'S OUT!! Got the call around 12:20pm CT that surgery was a success and she's recovered and resting in her kennel. She'll stay overnight to be monitored and is slated to come home tomorrow, late morning to early afternoon. They were able to spay her while she was under, so no second surgery down the road needed. Thank you all so much for the love, support, prayers and collective good vibes today and last night. I felt every single one of them. We'll gladly accept continued good vibes for the recovery ahead! 💙💛

UPDATE 4 (10/8): SHE'S HOME 🤍 Discharged today and resting in her recovery room. Extended update and a picture of her in the comments!

This is Bubs. I call her bubbies or bees to be short. I inherited/adopted her after a distant relative was no longer able to take care of her. Bubs has brought me so much joy over the past 3 years. She may look big because of her thick fur but she is actually quite skinny and doesn’t eat much. She loves sitting at the window and chirping at birds. Her fang is so big and is prominent in almost every picture I take of her.

Bubs has had several owners and I don’t know much about her past. I don’t even know how old she is. She was declawed by a previous owner. Bubs loves to sit with my Legos. She is a very friendly cat and I’m happy to be her parent :)

Cat Picture - OC My Boy Survived 35 Hair Ties.

My boy Louie loved hair ties as a kitten. I was warned by his vet at that time how dangerous hair ties are! I stopped using them 2 YEARS AGO. I noticed a year ago that Lou would vomit intermittently after eating. I thought to myself that cats just do that. It was never a daily thing- just off and on. He never had issues using the bathroom and never lost his appetite. Recently he had been throwing up multiple times a day. He became lethargic and I rushed him to the emergency vet. Welp…my sweet little innocent boy had a belly full of 35 hair ties. Who knows how long they’ve been in there. I felt horrible! He had surgery and is doing great. I hope this post will remind my fellow cat owners to keep hair ties away from their kitties! It’s an expensive lesson to learn.

Then when she's done she bites my hand and jumps away 🫩

Edit: Guys, I’m obviously not pressing hard or genuinely choking her!! I made a joke title and it’s just funny to imagine. All throughout these series of pictures she was purring as loudly as possible and stayed in my grip for 10 minutes. Not choking and NOT harming her for sure, please rest easy y’all 😭

Cat Picture - OC Potraits with my three new babies

Post image

Quick backstory, after losing the love of my life, Penny Lane, last November at eighteen, I wasn't sure when I would be ready to adopt again. I always knew I wanted black cats and when my friend rescued some cats from a hoarding situation, including two black cats, I had to meet them. My friend also had their mom, and well, here is my new son Ripley, sister Wendy (the tongue), and their mom, Bidi Bidi Bom Bom (tabby). My friend Danielle (Cat Party Pet Portraits) offered to do a shoot combining my love of dinosaurs with my love of my new kitties, and this photo makes me so delighted and happy with how it came out.
