Other Celebration Cakes Starry Night Cake ✨
As a grocery store decorator I don't get a lot of chances to do fun things so I was so excited to get to do this one 🤩

This was only the 5th cake I’ve ever made and decorated. It took me a long time and I’m hoping that I improve speed wise… And also of course my writing… and in other aspects too… in all fairness this was only the second time I’ve written on a cake. Critiques welcome 🤗

My Father's Day cake - chocolate tiramisu cake (choc cake, mascarpone cream, homemade ladyfingers, espresso chocolate frosting)
The white one was actually a wedding cake that a family friend asked me to make.. super simple looking design but pain in the ass to execute nicely. It was just confetti cake with vanilla buttercream as requested by the bride. I used Amoretti's Birthday Cake flavor (from their natural artisan line) and it was delicious. Daughter instantly decided she needs the same flavor for her upcoming birthday after trying the scraps lol.
The cupcakes I was also asked to make by a friend for her daughter's grad.. most cupcakes I've ever made in a day! She needed 10 dozen for the event but I made almost 12 dozen in total.
The last pic is of the leftover cupcakes that my 7 year old decorated, she was very proud 😄💕

We found my grandma's (her mom's) dentures while going through totes. my mother decided to make a cake using her dentures to mark the 14th anniversary of her passing. For anyone worried we thoroughly cleaned the dentures before putting them in the cake, and will not be eating the parts of the cake near the dentures.

On this day last year my then fiancé- now husband, decided to do dry January. I was sad to lose my drinking buddy, but wanted to be supportive so I stopped with him. I drank everyday for like 15 years and after a few weeks of not drinking I noticed how much better i felt. Kept dry Jan rolling all year. Now almost 100 pounds lighter, sleep amazing, don’t have to take anxiety meds anymore, back in college (I’m 43). having all positive relationships and never wondering what I did or said while drunk- life is amazing. Making black frosting was a bitch and I have never really decorated a square cake so it’s not perfect but it tastes like the best cake I ever had.

People told me to share it so... It turned out okay even though I don't bake. Took ages in between pain breaks.
Before anyone asks. Yes I have been checked for everything under the sun. Yes I am seeing neurologists. And unfortunately sometimes a migraine just gets stuck on. Being treated but it's trial and error and drug trials can take months to see if they are effective.

friend of the family asked me to make their anniversary cake which they are celebrating today! I thought I would use patriotic colors to tie in to today’s festivities 🇺🇸
The cake itself is 6 layers of Sally’s Baking Addiction’s chocolate layer cake recipe with milk chocolate ganache and chocolate pastry cream alternating throughout - covering in vanilla bean white chocolate ganache (that gave me a lot of trouble haha) and vanilla SMBC piping! I did the lettering by doing buttercream transfers and I’m super happy with it as someone who does not have the steadiest hands and has also had trouble with writing on cakes!
My only complaint is I wish I had taken the time to flatten all of the dots instead of leaving them pointed 🤦♀️

I just wanna brag on my wife and her amazing talent progression. Over the last 2 years she has been doing cakes from home and at her job. I cannot believe some of the amazing work she has done.

Retirement cake for a beloved colleague..he’s known for many impressive things but one of them is his steadfast commitment to wearing a woolly jumper (the Australian term for what Americans would call sweaters), no matter the weather. ✊
So it’s a stack of jumpers cake. Each jumper is its own individual lemon cake, filled with cherry jam, vanilla buttercream and crushed Shortbread Cream biscuits. The zip is edible too, if you felt the yen to (best not tho.) Swipe to the end to see the pre carved cake, and then the innards.

Had lots of fun with this cake but perhaps too much frosting 😅

For a Shrek-themed bachelorette party.
On another note, I’m terrible at pricing my cakes. What do you think is fair for something like this? I don’t want to charge too much, because there’s so much room for improvement regarding the fondant-sculpted Shrek (sculpting is definitely my weakest skill).

First time making a half sheet cake and had a great time with this one! Once I learned now to actually put the cakes in the fridge without breaking 😅 RIP to the first two batches. Inside is GF vanilla with vanilla frosting. Shells are white chocolate with a little food coloring and gold luster 🐚🌊

My Mother's Day cake this year. Which marks three years of cakes for me 🥳. So glad I found this hobby and only wish I'd started sooner!

Last year I got into making cupcakes because they make the perfect sweet treat for me to have in the fridge. I would give cupcakes away to people and would get questions if I was selling. So a few months ago I started selling them and here's my decorating progress!

Here’s some cakes I’ve made during my time at Dairy Queen. These did well in the DQ subreddit so I figured I’d post them here as well for feedback and people needing inspiration!

I made a square cake for the first time last month and found it a little more challenging than I'd expected. Getting sharp corners and smooth sides was really difficult. So I decided to make another square cake for a family get together to get some practice in. Also needed to use up a bunch of freezer flowers lol.
I think I see a bit of improvement from my last one. This shape definitely takes some practice!
