Question ❓ Whose that poke...er....battlemech?
I found this image on my social media feed last week, but I have no idea what mech it is. The original post did not specify.
It almost looks like a Frankenmech, but, aside from being lo-key in love with it, I am unsure.
Anyone have a clue?

Question ❓ Why is the barrel so short?! they could get SO MUCH extra range, speed and power if they just increased the longitude of the cannons! (this is mostly about the AC/20 but also applies to other cases)

Question ❓ What mech will make me feel like this? Bonus points if it actually has shoulder mounted guns.

Question ❓ Any interest in an infantry-focused wargame in the Battletech universe?
Would anyone else be interested in a purpose-built ruleset focused on the ground pounders? Consisting of infantry and battle armor duking it out, say, in close confines or small unit actions?
I would kill to paint up a point of 32mm elementals to fight some squads of regular troopers.

Question ❓ The Outbound Light left the Inner Sphere three years ago in 3046, now their presence has brought forth a new choice! Most Iconic Mech of the Clan Invasion Era! The OG Box Art Model the Warhammer wins out for Succession Wars
Same as before top comment wins but if there's a clear 2nd and 3rd choice they'll be put in Honorable Mentions
There was no clear 3rd for Succession Wars so I opted to include the Catapult as its robust work horse nature and flexibility with the K2 variant are iconic to the "making do with what we have" nature of the era.

Question ❓ 'Mech designers seem to shy away from putting main guns in the head. Are there any 'mechs that graduated from the "Tankhead" school of mech design?

Question ❓ Humanoid mechs with guns but no hands?
I like humanoid-shaped mechs (plantigrade legs, a "head") that just have huge cannons in place of hands. Not counting mechs that don't have "arms" like the Jagermech or Rifleman. What are some mechs with this arrangement? Ones that I know of:
- Warhammer
- Orion
- Mauler
- Hellbringer
- Summoner
- Dervish
- Whitworth
- Awesome
- Shogun
- Devastator

Question ❓ What's a mech generally disliked by the community that you love?
From the moment I found one in a lgs ive loved the scorpion. Im a universe full of fancy samurai mechs, headless ostriches, and body walking gun platforms the fact there's an Abrams on legs just makes me so happy.

Question ❓ Can I still field this WHM-6R?
I picked up an old model of a Warhammer due to it being my second favourite, however its a bit on the large side. Would i still be able to use this in the table top? And would it look natural with the rest of my miniatures?

Question ❓ What are your favorite light mech in the setting?
My favorite is the Incubus, it hilarious to use. Who put gun around so close to the cockpit and there are four of them!? Hold the trigger and you literally went blind and deaf with Dakka.

Question ❓ The mighty Atlas is the most iconic mech of the Star League era. Next: Top Comment decides most Iconic 'Mech of the Succession Wars!
And please give some reasoning why your Mech is the most iconic to you!
In terms of "Iconic" the things to consider are what mechs are representative of the nature of that era, recognizable for their place in that era

Question ❓ Gimme your honest opinion. Is the Victor a good mech design?
Alright BT community. I have come before you to challenge my bias. The victor is my favorite all time mech. I frikking Love it. My experiences with it are from the videogames and lore. To give some backstory.
80t assault mechs is also my favorite bracket. Zeus, hatamoto chi, awesome you name it. But i praise and love the victor above else.
It is fast for an assault. It has jumpjets. And it has a frikking AC/20. Dual medium lasers and an srm4. It is my dream mech for urban combat. With cooler variants having an srm 6. Or the a1 adding 2 (nipple) machineguns.
The katanga custom mech. The hero variants from PGI MW games.
BUT. I feel bias has clouded my judgement. Take the champion i love the champion..but i know its not that great of a design.
So. Let me have it. Is the victor a good design? Im talking lore, TT and videogames.

Question ❓ This is where the fun begins! I think we're past having clear cut winners as we go into the remaining eras, so as the Super state of the Federated Commonwealth has finally fractured, what Mech represents this time of schism in an iconic way?
Top comment is the most iconic mech of the era, with Honorable (and potential Dezgra) mentions for those who still shine through the lore!

Question ❓ We all have Mechs we love, Mechs we like, Mechs we don't care about and Mechs we hate. Do you have a Mech you're conflicted about?
The Nightstar is that Mech for me. I like the design, I like the Federated Commonwealth and this Mech was revived by them.
On the other hand. I really don't like the "group" this Mech is part of. Basically what happened is that a technical readout introduced a series of Mechs that were supposedly created during the late Star League, all good so far, the problem is that these Mechs really don't fit well. Many of them were really powerful, too powerful even, to the point that they should have logically made Mechs like the Atlas obsolete. But they didn't, for some reason. This was done in order to give Clan invasion era Inner Sphere players a way to balance the scales with their Clan adversaries, while also allowing players of the succession wars to use them, this created what I can only describe as a "bit of a cluster fuck".
So, to conclude. I like the Mech in itself, but the situation surrounding it has left a bitter taste in my mouth. Do you have Mechs that you can't decide if you like them or not?

Question ❓ Wait, a Trinary isnt even that many mechs?!
I watched the first episode of the animated series for the first time today. Malthus infamously states how he has an entire Trinary ready to strike.
Id never thought about it hard before now, but I look up how many a Trinary is, and its... three Stars... fifteen mechs? *Thats it?!*
Id always assumed a trinary was like... orders of magnitude larger than a star, not just a multiple of three! Dont get me wrong, any lance would get splattered by a Trinary, but conquering an entire planet? Feels a bit thin.
Loreheads, is this right? Do i have the right numbers? Whats going on

Question ❓ Have you ever wondered what it would be like to actually sit behind the controls of a BattleMech?
You still can.

Question ❓ Mechs you can’t stand the look of?
What are some mechs you just despise the aesthetics of? Are there any mechs you’d love to run but because of their look you just don’t field em? I am very fickle on my aesthetics a lotta the time, but the Wyvern absolutely is at the top of my list for “mechs I would use if I didn’t hate how they looked”.

Question ❓ I happened across this incredible little guy and it made me wonder: What is the lightest mech with the heaviest gun?
I'm sure there's mechs out there that can beat a 25 ton with a heavy large laser.

Question ❓ Stats aside, what's everyone's favorite mech?
For me it's gotta be the blackjack. Battletech (the game on steam) was my first big exposure to the setting and the campaign started me off with one and I thought it was super dope with the dual autocannons

Question ❓ What makes a good command mech?
I have been going down the rabbit hole more on individual mechs and listening to videos. Got me thinking on what makes a good command mech? I know the cyclops got some command computer thing but does that matter?
Personally I've been kinda falling in love with the Merlin as of late.

Question ❓ Are sphereoids stupid? Why don't they raise their arms?
That way they could shoot over hills and expose less of their mechs to incoming fire. Are arm actuators lostech?
