It’s obviously night time, and my and my boyfriend were wondering if this is a bug or maybe a tree frog or something. it’s 2 am and i’m in michigan.

Hi everyone! I’ve been hearing a strange, repetitive hammering/tapping noise coming from inside or around my apartment wall, and I’m trying to figure out what could be causing it.

The sound comes and goes, but I’ve noticed it mostly during the daytime, usually between 12–2 PM. This is now the third time I’ve heard it around that same time.

I’ve also heard it once at night, around 11 PM, but daytime seems to be much more common.
It sounds like repeated, rhythmic hammering, almost like a bird pecking against something. I’m wondering if it could be a woodpecker, but I’m not sure.

I recorded the noise and attached the video.
Does anyone recognize this sound or have an idea what could be causing it? Any insight would be appreciated!

Does anyone know what animal is making this noise and how to make it leave?

I live in norway near a forest, i hear the sounds at the end of the video most nights, but now i heard some sort of fighting (heard in beginning) im guessing so i got even more curious.

East Texas, Athens area, usually pretty good with noises and don’t recognize it

Me and my friend are hanging out and heard this strange noise. We have no idea what would make this noise plz help thanks.

I have a cricket chirping inside my house. I kept hearing it in one general area but it would stop before I could locate it. I set up a fan to blow towards the area. It worked for about an hour but then it began chirping from different location. Any suggestions? It’s midnight and driving me insane.

This "song" was recorded in the western Mass forest audio project on two occasions both at night in 2025. This 49 second clip and a short 4 second clip a month later. The "song" named for its tone and pitch shifts, was heard sung by different voices. It is unclear what makes the call.

What is making this noise ?

Hello all im in the Inland Emprire CA and I've been hearing this sound in the morning every now and then. Can someone help me identify what animal is making this sound.

Never heard this sound before. Randomly happening between 10:20 and 10:35pm. It was followed by a rustling noise high in a tree. Chat GPT thinks it was a southern flying squirrel, but I couldn’t find one making the same noises on YouTube.

Sorry the clip is so short, but it was hard to get.
