SDHQ Official SteamDeckHQ 2.0 Is Here WIth a Huge Redesign and Brand New Features
About 4 years ago, I first introduced SteamDeckHQ, an official press outlet that focuses on Steam Deck performance testing and recommended settings, to this Subreddit. Since then, it has taken off and grown more than I could have ever expected. It's all thanks to our incredible community and readers for making it happen.
Today, we are pushing forward and have completely redesigned the website from the ground up. Everything has been retouched to make it look better, have cleaner navigation, and support some big new features like accounts, library/wishlist syncing with our reviews, badges, and more.
Here's an overview of everything that has changed:
- Complete redesign: homepage, header, navigation, footer, cards, typography, and mobile layouts.
- Homepage toggle between featured stories and a newest-first article strip, with the preference saved.
- Light and dark modes that follow the device setting or remember a manual choice.
- Rebuilt reviews with clearer scores, verdicts, compatibility badges, settings, battery information, galleries, and buy links.
- Review search, sorting, and filters for device, genre, compatibility, and ratings.
- Expanded Nintendo and hardware sections, plus Steam Machine and future Steam Frame areas.
- Steam account linking and a personal library matched to SDHQ reviews.
- Playtime, Steam Deck hours, and achievement progress on relevant reviews.
- Saved wishlist with supported public Steam wishlist importing.
- Personal game recommendations based on library and playing habits.
- Live deal prices, discounts on game cards, wishlist deals, and personalised suggestions.
- Improved community voting and results.
- Badges covering participation, library activity, devices, and Steam milestones.
- Rebuilt account pages, profile editing, Steam/Patreon linking, sign-in, and password recovery.
- Dedicated Patreon membership page and paid-member ad-free handling.
- Rebuilt About, team, author, Work With Us, search, and error pages.
We have a lot of plans for the future, so stay tuned as we expand the site with more features and better ways to find out which games run well on the Steam Deck.

SDHQ Official Valor Mortis Is Surprisingly Playable on the Steam Deck
I wasn't sure that Valor Mortis would be playable on the Steam Deck, since it is a beautiful-looking game made with Unreal Engine 5. However, I was wrong. It does need some compromises, but the game is playable on the Deck at 30 FPS. It doesn't look as beautiful as it should, but I would definitely consider it playable if you only have a Deck to play games on.

Software/Software Mods DeckyShare v1.1 – wireless file transfer between Steam Deck and phone/PC, no app needed (big update)
Hey everyone! I just released DeckyShare v1.1, a Decky Loader plugin for moving files between your Steam Deck and your phone or computer over Wi-Fi. No app on the phone/PC, it all works in the browser.
What’s new in v1.1
- Completely redesigned Deck panel and phone page: cleaner, bigger buttons, works well with the controller
- Connect a PC/Mac easily: open the short address shown on the Deck (like 192.168.1.20:8787) and type a 6-digit code. Phones still just scan the QR code
- Live speed + time left, and a warning if the transfer stalls (no more guessing whether it froze)
- Cancel transfers from the Deck, not just from the phone
- “Received files” list shows where each file came from (e.g. “From iPhone · 3.1 GB · 2 min ago”)
- Wi-Fi check in the panel: shows the band, link speed and signal, with hints if your Wi-Fi is the bottleneck
- Faster, more reliable uploads for big files (Maximum Speed mode, plus resumable modes that survive Wi-Fi drops)
- Security: every device needs the QR token or a one-time code (v1.0 had no protection, so please update!)
- Built-in updates: install new versions from More → Updates in the panel
Speed note: transfers go phone → router → Deck, so your Wi-Fi decides the speed. In my testing it was ~4–5 MB/s with a weak signal (−74 dBm) and 20+ MB/s near the router on 5 GHz. The new Wi-Fi check tells you which situation you’re in.
Install (not in the official Decky store):
- Decky → Settings → General → enable Developer mode
- Developer → Install Plugin from URL and paste: https://github.com/gillrajvir950-wq/deckyshare/releases/latest/download/DeckyShare.zip
Already on 1.1.0? Just open More → Updates.
GitHub: https://github.com/gillrajvir950-wq/deckyshare
Feedback and bug reports are very welcome, especially from Android users, since I’ve mostly tested with an iPhone. Open an issue on GitHub or comment here.
Transparency: parts of this were built with the help of AI coding tools. It’s open source, and feedback or contributions are welcome.

Emulation The Gaming Emporium
Link to site: https://thegamingemporium.com/
Hi all it's been a while since I posted the site here so here I am!
The site is a collection of links to Decompilations, Recompilations, Android Ports, Browser Based games, Open Source Games, Rom Hacks, Mods, Texture Packs, VR Mods, Preserved Games, English Translation Patches, Abandonware and loads more.
What started as a single post on the Steam Deck sub a few years back with about 12 links has, with the help of user suggestions on various Reddit subs and other means, has now grown to an archive of just over 3,630 links.
I'm just a gatherer of links, all credit goes to the people on the end of each link.
Anyway, have a dip in, hope you find something you like 👍

Community Guide Tested DroidDeck 0.3.2 on MediaTek Dimensity (Mali GPU) — Gamescope still broken
Just grabbed the new DroidDeck 0.3.2 release to test on my MediaTek Dimensity device hoping for a surprise fix, but it crashes straight back to desktop with the same Gamescope / "Session Ended" error right on startup
Saw a comment from a contributor (voyager2005) confirming we still don't have Linux-compiled open-source Mali drivers, which is why everything defaults to Adreno.
I made a quick video testing 0.3.2, showing the exact crash logs, and breaking down the driver issue for anyone on Dimensity wondering why it won't launch
Anyone else with a Dimensity chip getting past the initialization screen or are we all completely blocked right now? Drop your SoC below so I can compare logs.
