Battle Report Star Wars Armada Epic Scenario

I finally got around to posting this after running it a few months back. We used simplified Armada rules with overarching scenario rules. Each side had an overall commander who helped with command and control but also had command points that could be used for events such as the super laser firing or focusing all firepower on the super star destroyer. Once the rebels survived long enough for the shield to come down, then we switched over to the trench run using X-Wing rules and overall commanders had a new set of event cards they could play with command points. For the trench run, I was inspired by a local x-wing player (he goes by Lag Janson online) who has a trench run scenario for the second death star. I modified and added some extra stuff like more tiles, tiles with turrets and it worked perfectly for a conclusion to the event. We originally had a ground battle segment as well but it was cut last minute as the ground commanders had to cancel. Overall, we had a blast and I'm hoping to run it again sometime this summer with a few more players so we can have the ground battle going on at the same time to control when the shield drops rather than a turn limit. (Re-posted with pictures properly added)

Battle Report Following the traumatic house move that saw several of my Armada ships damaged I have now managed 2 complete games in 2 weeks, which I don't think I've done since the pandemic.

Once again I have failed to capture the stages of the fight, but Imperial victory following some dumb manoeuvres by me to help train up another friend (honest). He took out my Providence and Gonzos but my reliable Hyenas managed to dog one of his Gladiators until it was dead so it wasn't the tabling it could have been.

To make up for the lack of battle pics here is my fleet in its new home, several hours of patient gluing has got them all fixed (though some are permanently fixed to their stands now).

Also bonus cat. Her predecessor was a very chatty boy Siamese who would sit on the table and watch us play and never ever disrupted the models, she is not yet convinced by Armada, but did come in and shout at us at one point, possibly for being nerds.

Chris flew a Draven fleet to victory, getting a 10-1 in the final round - but had to await the results of Jason’s game to see if he’d gained the title!

Congratulations also to Jason Dedrick (jznddrck), who took 2nd with a squadless Obi-wan fleet.

And congratulations to Adam Newton (Angry Ewok) who took 3rd, going undefeated this entire weekend, also with Draven!

Battle Report Battle for Xquine II. Raddus vs Jerjerrod

General Corellian Campaign Context

Third turn; currently 2–4 in favor of the Rebel Alliance.

Imperial bases on Corellia (Now destroyed), Selonia, Nubia, and Centerpoint.

Rebel presence on Saberrhing, Duro, Vagran, Forvand, Aurea, Drall, and Sileria.

Rebel commanders: Agate, Ackbar, and Raddus.

Imperial commanders: Jerjerrod, Thrawn, and Romodi.

In response to attacks on the civilian worlds of Sacorria and Polanis, Rebel Command dispatched Admiral Raddus to liberate Xquine II. He arrived aboard the Endeavor and was met by Moff Jerjerrod—aboard the Ravager**—who was overseeing a mining operation in the nearby Exogorth-Infested Fields.**

The match concluded after four turns, resulting in the loss of the Endeavor, the Garel's Honor, the Moly Crow, and two X-wing squadrons. In exchange, the Ravager was destroyed, after which the Gozanti flotillas escaped into hyperspace.

Thus, the Alliance concludes its two attacks by successfully destroying the Imperial base on Corellia (led by Commodore Agate) and capturing Xquine II while sinking the SSD Ravager (led by Admiral Raddus), bringing the score to 5–2 in their favor; they now await the outcome of the defense of Crash Drift against Grand Admiral Thrawn’s attack, commanded by Admiral Gial Ackbar.

The remaining damage totals stand at 90 points for Raddus and 125 for Jerjerrod.

I hope you enjoyed this battle report; I adapted the format from u/dauntless1979

And please excuse any writing errores, Im using a transistor and have just a little bit of knowledge of English

800 points or ships, no squadrons, means a lot of hull on the table. Great games all around and congrats to Sam Wang who won with a Palpatine fleet!

Battle Report Birthday Armada with my Sister

Today is my birthday, so I and my sister played an 800 point game. Leia vs Plo Koon, Squadron lists

Unfortunately for me, turn 2 went horribly, costing me my flagship and Shara, and the rest of the game was a downward spiral into defeat without Leia's ability

Made some mistakes on my end which ended up costing us the match but damn was it fun. Using Raddus to drop the Providence right in the middle of the chaos was epic.

Battle Report 1000 point game. How it started vs how it ended

Thumbnail
gallery
85 Upvotes

Well, approximately how it ended, because my opponent flipped the table before I could screenshot, and we tried to recreate the board state as best we could.

1000 point Tarkin vs 1000 point Ackbar. Surprise attack meant Ackbar was dead on turn 2, but he did manage to do some good damage to the Interdictor before going down. The Starhawk, Providence, and squadrons fought the Interdictor, Onager, Raider, Quasar, and squadrons in the center, while the sides each had an Assault Frigate and MC30 vs an ISD.

By turn 3, the Interdictor and Tarkin's command ship were gone, the remaining ships had sustained a lot of damage, while the rebels had lost an MC80 and Assault Frigate, but we're still sitting pretty well, so my opponent forfeit.

This was a silly game which tested the limits of Tabletop Simulator, but was kinda fun. Would probably try it again sometime.

Survived my first Armada tournament this weekend. Learned a lot (especially that a 'strategic' squadron can push firing lanes tokens under my ships...) and had a lot of fun! Too bad I joined this game so late but it's still alive, in a way.

Got to throw a large part of the Republic Navy out on the table last weekend for an 800pt tournament. Commander Anakin bravely lead Republic forces to defeat in 2/3 matches, with a narrow victory in the last round. Results were middling, but I think he was probably the best Republic commander pick for this type of event still.

Republic forces included:

  • (4) Acclamtor II's running: Thermals, Gunnery Teams, APTs, and Swivel Mounts.
  • (2) Victory I's with SPHA-Ts and Engine Techs.
  • (2) Consular Armed Cruisers, 1 with Munitions Resupply, 1 naked.
  • (1) Venator II flagship with CNO (completely unecessary), ECM, Mercy Mission and Tranquility.

Repost due to initial issues uploading.

It’s been too long since I put actual ships on a table. This was a match from a week ago, it was very interesting as I’ve never played Raddus against himself. I hope you enjoy.

Let me know your thoughts, suggestions etc? I hope to do these everytime I play in person…

Battle Report A first attempt at running a homebrew ship

Just this morning, I asked a friend to play against me for an early test to see how my homebrew Viscount (https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsArmada/s/RRvJcPmDLZ for the basic stats) would preform in a game. It was a 600 point game, Madine vs Plo Koon with him having a Venator, 3 Victory (2 with SPHA-T) and a squadron Wing of Anakin, Multiple Y-Wings, and Multiple ARC-170. While I had the Viscount, 2 GR-75s, and a CR-90 to be support ships for my Viscount.

Turns out, my attempt to make the Viscount invincible kinda worked. With Engineering Team and Raymus Antilles, I had 10 engineering points whenever I chose to repair, which could recover from most damage dealt to the Viscount. And with Leia as the officer on a GR-75, I could change the Viscount's command on the fly to whatever I'd want for that turn (usually navigation, but sometimes concentrate fire or repair if I found myself in a spot for those)

It was honestly a pretty dull game. After losing a Victory to the Viscount, my friend tried to destroy my support ships and secure Fire Lanes to win, but since my Viscount was planted on 2 of them, and a CR-90 and GR-75 don't quite equal a fully kitted out Victory for points, I secured a simple win.

I want to figure out how to make the Viscount less invincible, while still keeping it feeling like a more defensive ship. The obvious answer is to nerf the engineering, but I feel like I have to keep the same 4/5/6 structure the Executor class has.
