The crown in her hair sparkled in the sunlight.
When her father announced her marriage in court, hours before he told her, he said she’d be married as befits a princess. Many in the court looked troubled because they had all heard the stories of the cursed princess.
They whispered about the fact that things would levitate at times around her, and how she detected poison that was left in her cup. How she had the ability to perceive the future.
All thanks to her mad mother.
Some said she was the most valuable child her father had. More valuable than his accomplished firstborn, who served as a general in the army. Or his secondborn, the admiral of the navy. Or as even his bastard son he had with another noblewoman, who ran the country’s bank. They even claimed she was more beautiful than her older sister, more accomplished than her.
However, she was considered cursed. Wrong. Though many agreed on her beauty, they also whispered she must have used magic to achieve it.
Her father never denied the rumours about his daughter being a witch nor did he try to punish those who spread them. If he thought of her as valuable, many would doubt that, considering her marriage arrangement.
But none of that mattered to the princess.
All she cared about was leaving her father’s court.
So, as soon as it was announced, arrangements were made to move her to her new home, to her husband. She was given a large dowry, and she was allowed to take a few items from the royal treasury.
And she took the crown her mother had. Her sweet mother, her father’s second wife, who grew mad, once wore this same crown to her wedding.
She could almost hear her father sneer, calling it an ill omen, but she did not care.
She just wanted a piece of her mother with her.
The crown itself was elegant, adorned with diamonds and brilliant sapphires, and it sparkled each time the princess moved her head. Her blonde hair was arranged into an updo, with more diamonds and pearls added between her locks.
Her gown was large, white, with crystals that glimmered, sewn into the neckline. It fit snugly around her lithe, willowy frame, her pale skin matching the dress.
In the private room of the cathedral, one maid was tasked with placing the veil over her face, hiding her beautiful features, her large but sad blue eyes, and her rosy lips. The maid blushed as the veil fell over her face.
The cathedral was full to the brim with people who came to see the ghostly princess married. A match no one expected or thought would ever happen.
Yet, when she entered, a hush fell in the church, and everyone stared at her, stunned by the sight. She moved like a fairy, like an angel come down to land.
Sent to marry a man she never spoke to.

Hello, and thank you so much for reading this little snippet of a story I would love to (hopefully) explore further with you!
The story follows a beautiful princess who is often referred to as cursed. Some believe she is a witch; some say her beauty is the one that drives men mad. Depending on how you feel about magic in your RP, she can be an actual witch or she can be just a woman who is a victim to nasty rumours.
Personality-wise, she is clever, reserved and hides her passions and warmth behind walls.
I left your character pretty ambiguous so we could hopefully workshop something very interesting to play around with!
Perhaps he is a minor noble of the kingdom, someone nobody would be expected to marry a princess. Perhaps he has high aspirations, and this could be a tale of them taking over the kingdom together.
Maybe he is a war veteran Duke, someone who actually fought in the war, unlike her siblings who just got the acclaim. He could be jaded, hurt and in pain, but when asked for one reward, he requested her. It could be a love story of two people coming together to love each other despite it all.
Or he is a prince of a different kingdom, and she is sent there as part of a peace treaty. They could be cold towards each other and take years to warm up to each other, or he could be so taken aback by his bride that he wants to conquer her whole country just to give it to her.
Obviously, I seem to like male characters who really, truly love their female counterpart ^^'' I am a bit shameless in that regard.
But, these are just ideas, and I would love to hear yours!
Story ideas aside - I go by Ghost, I live in Europe and I am 25+. I work a lot through the week, but I do my best to reply every other day, if not daily. I love writing detailed replies with lots of introspection, wild romances, and clever characters. I am a sucker for making aesthetic posts and collections inspired by the RP. My favourite tropes are soulmates, red string of fate and 'who did this to you'.
The only thing I do not vibe with is low or minimal effort. I do not write one- or two-paragraph replies; I do not do lazy RPs. If you message me with 'yo wanna rp' I will ignore you. <3 The more you write, the more I'll write back!
