You can't write infinite dialogue, so eventually all your Skyrim followers start repeating the same 3 sentences, that's the point an LLM would be fine as a mod.
I don't want infinite dialogue. I've never thought "man, I wish this NPC had an infinite stream of randomly generated things to say." I don't know why some people's idea of a perfect game is endless small talk.
With "post writing" I meant characters that had their written story finished.
Some Skyrim mods have already shown that it’s possible to go beyond small talk, even with the weak LLMs at the time, NPCs actually react to what’s happening.
I’d love for Serana to say different things depending on where we go, instead of repeating that "I've spent enough time in caves" every time we enter a dungeon. I don't think that's a super rare opinion for people that played skyrim for 200+ hours, a simple joke when I mess up a thieves guild quest and get caught would do wonders for immersion.
Probably because hearing the NPC say the same 3 things over and over gets annoying fast. But the games don't want to make them have no dialogue, either.
