I drew one of Clay's worst fears: another illegitimate child!
I kept thinking of outcomes that a Putty and Bloberta affair would affect everyone in and worsen the entire situation all together, and a fanchild concept came to mind.
AU lore, which contain spoilers for the Honor EP and series plot twists below.
The initial affair started a few months after "Honor." I can imagine after Clay's love confession to Danielle, Clay and Bloberta's relationship mutually deteriorated faster than ever. Years of repressed negativity and regret towards each other, only released through passive-aggressive bickering, finally blew up into explosive arguments the following January after Danielle's apartment. The following months afterward, Clay and Bloberta tried to put up a facade again, but it didn't work, since the two were overly aware of the other partner's true wants and feelings for the marriage now.
Bloberta felt quite numb and hopeless in the ordeal. Forever stuck with a man who never loved her, raising the illegitimate son of his ex lover who used her to get closer to him when all she wanted was to feel seen and appreciated since her youth, hoping the love from men would patch that hole inside of her. Bloberta felt embolden to cheat on Clay since the consequences would be the same regardless.
She tried her chances with the few single (and married) men of Moralton before settling on Putty out of pure spite for Clay and similar relational desperation on Putty's end. It took a while for Putty and Bloberta to physically officiate the affair and when they did, Bloberta ended up pregnant by accident. Putty decided to keep and raise the child. Excited to finally live out his family man fantasy, trapping Bloberta in while being able to spite Clay in the process too.
Obviously, because of the circumstance that led to Terra's inception, she has a shaky relationship with everyone in Moralton.
General strangers boiled Terra down to "the illegitimate child of the Reverend and Mayor's wife." Viewed more as a pest than anything.
Clay hates Terra, same with Shapey. Orel tries to be forgiving, but subconsciously avoid Terra at all costs.
Putty, as stated, loves his daughter and gloats about Terra anytime he gets. Especially at Clay. Bloberta loves her daughter too, finally happy to seemingly live the life she wanted as a child. Although it comes at the cost of neglecting Orel and Shapey more before disappearing fully to live with Putty and Terra instead. Unsurprisingly, both parents treat Terra more as a trophy child, than a kid. Setting Terra up to be a prodigy child, before making her community leader in her teens.
Stephanie is the only person Terra has a good and unconditional relationship. Stephanie is happy to have a little sister and be a good role model. Although her relationship with Putty greatly suffers as Terra grows up, realizing how increasingly weird and selfish Putty is.
I could go on to explain more, but to keep it short; due to the mistreatment and emotional abuse Terra faced growing up, paired when she finally learned how she was conceived, she developed Moral OCD and covert NPD as a result.
Text, if my handwriting is too messy.
Terra's dialogue,"You're not supposed to do that!"
"Terra 'Terrie' Putty. 9 y/o. Illegitimate child of Putty & Bloberta. Tattletale and bossy brat. Lives with Putty. Knows Bloberta is her mother, but doesn't know why they live separately."
"*Sunday Church* Putty told her to seat with the Puppingtons."
Reverend Putty: "She's like the daughter I'm aware of and can actually raise!"
Stephanie: "Dad..."
Clay: "What legal ways can I make a 9-year-old's life miserable?"
"*Pushed Terra* Shapey (16)"
Terra: "I'm making sure my daddy sends you to hell!"
[Disembodied] Clay: "Whoa, son! Don't push her again next time or she'll get the wrong idea!"
