Potentially stolen artwork is still all over Mobile Legends’ official Facebook page, and has been for 10 years
Guys were arguing about this stuff on another post so I took my time to do my own comparisons.
All images shown are pictures that are actively on Mobile Legends’ Facebook as of making this post (you can see them by searching for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and filtering by date posted to 2016-2017, but they also come up naturally when searching for MLBB). Yes, some images are modified versions of artwork that are copyrighted to other companies like Blizzard and Tencent, but more importantly others are traced from artwork belonging to independent artists who have no known association with Moonton.
Again, these are actively on Moonton’s Facebook, currently. If this art is stolen, Moonton should at least take it down.
they steal every single thing for whole game and start replacing with their own stuff after they got popular and get sue. they still stealing but less oblivious unlike before. since they steal whole game worth of assets this is nothing at all.
There's 2 accounts spamming this here rn. One has never played mlbb and other has been here for months commenting on mlbb stealing stuff on unrelated posts.
It's just the rando trying to farm reacts and karma by acting like someone fighting for justice against bad stealing company
And it's the same guy lol. They are both on the pubg mobile sub and have been talking about this on quite a few of their old comments even though it's common knowledge by now.
don't mind op, he's only interacting with this subreddit to tell shit about moonton copying shit, which is an obvious fact. It's either he owns the channel he kept on linking or he's getting some other benefits from doing this. He doesn't even interact with normal posts here cuz he probably don't even play
Uhh No? They never gave proper credits to those people, That’s like stealing a song, changing the chorus, and saying it’s not stolen anymore, because you changed it. Not to mention, that the money they made from those stolen assets are literally money that should’ve gone to the original artists who MAKE A LIVING through ART COMMISSIONS
I'm not saying they should credit the artists now. I'm saying the artists should be COMPENSATED for their work that was stolen and used without their permission in the first place. You mfs really like dih riding moonton huh?
They barely gave a damn and almost avoided the lawsuit and you think they will give more fucks on a random person? be real that ain't going to happen no one is defending them if you're that adamant to go against them start a strike at their company then
Tf? That's literally what's happening rn. OP is actually trying to hold them accountable and telling other people the truth about moonton's greed, yet you're clowning on him because "it happened a long time ago" 🤡
Wdym they aren’t using it. It’s on their Facebook. Right now. That’s them technically using it. It pops up when you search the game still advertising it
unless you're saying my eyes don't work, these posts are all from 2016. Literally the period before moonton changed a lot of their hero designs drastically and when the game was still extremely new. Would you have liked them to scrub their entire history clean and pretended it never happened?
Well yeah kinda, they should remove the infringing posts and issue an apology like most games do when they steal art. It’s great that they removed it from their game, but it’s still bad if they didn’t remove it from representing their company even if it’s in posts that were posted years ago but are still visible and pop up in search to this day. That’s still infringement, and now they’re liable for 10 years worth of it
liable for what??? For assets that have not been in the game for 10 years? Also "most games" don't apologize either, not even LOL and they're infinitely bigger now than mlbb was in 2017/2016, be so fr rn. Yw to fact check me cuz it's not infringement because they are no longer CURRENTLY using it as promotional material. This is the exact definition of beating a dead horse.
Yeah no I’m pretty sure it counts, and it’s still general copyright infringement so it would fall under statutory damages which can be up to $150,000 US
I thought what most people knew for years was that Moonton copied hero kits. Copying art would definitely be a separate scandal. I'm actually surprised reading here that people also knew the art theft part.
They copied multi billion company... Why would people be surprised if they copied some random guys art And now they turned to AI for most of their art currently before getting their team have it actually drawn for splash art and then probably AI enhance it as well

which is worse, stealing art directly from random people or using AI art. I personally think both are bad, but directly stealing is worse
But it's hard to get back at them because they've been using loophole during their first two lawsuit to almost avoid the whole thing and doubt they won't do it again when someone brought up old photos that they don't even use anymore
What? The Recent Video explained exactly what majority already knows Again The Lawsuits were WIDESPREAD IT WASN'T KEPT SECRET
No one saying it's a good thing. They won the lawsuits because of loopholes you think they would not use some bullshit excuse to not give credit to some random person?
I'm not even defending them how did you get to that conclusion from my comment??
So we just gonna talk about the lawsuits again for no fucking reason because we ain't got anything better to do??
What kind of tone or word could I used, could I have said to state that Everything in OP'S post is already known by majority of people who gives two fucks about it again The Lawsuits were WIDESPREAD
Feel free to say whatever you want, but I literally see no problem with posting about something that has been discussed before. It’s almost as though we don’t see a post talking about how broken Paquito is every week, how bad the matchmaking is etc (and this is way more informative than those)
I see, I didn’t check the other post. If OP really claimed these were new findings (i.e. the lawsuit), then that’s blatantly untrue (though I’m unsure if these works in particular were already known to be stolen). I don’t think you managed to convey this in your original reply though
Also I'm talking about this post they claimed current theft and that moonton is still stealing art even though it wasn't they've only showed what was already given to the general public.
The only current they've showed is the map is similar with HOK and Moonton during 2023 which was still debatable if it really was stolen and just altered.
Ok yeah I saw this one too. The title(s) are very misleading because Moonton were exposed ages ago for stealing art. I haven’t watched the video myself but unless there is actually a new case of theft, it just comes across as clickbaity. A documentary-like recap would be more appropriate
In a sense, yes I personally found it a bit dismissive, but I think your first comment is completely fair if Moonton has truly changed their ways. I do think despite most of us already knowing about the company’s antics, there are people who are either new to this sub or the game, and they would appreciate this being shared with them. Either way, I think your main point was that this theft that was claimed to be recent occurred a long time ago, and that OP shouldn’t make misleading titles or descriptions to get engagement (which if true, I completely agree with). I wasn’t able to infer that from your original comment though
Honestly, this seems a bit suspicious, but we can’t really draw any conclusions. Other games likely have similar ending screens, and it becomes a bit tricky to determine who’s stealing from whom
This is seriously getting confusing right now, is this like some sort of trend where people are coming back to old and open topics like the copy issues? ive been seeing alot of these about how moonton copied the games here and there but like isn't it already known by then?
anyways theres no point in deleting, it was 2016 no one genuinely cared for how everything was working back then theres no point in deleting an already issued lawsuit by the other companies
It's already ten years now and Moonton has already moved on from it. It's getting redundant that people bring up old issues like the two lawsuits or Moonton stealing different assets.
lmao now that you have mentioned it, it seems some sort of becoming a trend
this is kind of off topic, but recently, there's this freaking Guy actor in the PH who just brought his past then the netizens start digging his past as well, reminding how much of a dead beat he is.
dude I've been playing this game for 8 years and you're right, they stole a lot of things but we don't really care anymore, moonton is just like that especially in the early days
I have to agree. We've already moved on from that shit and OP brought it up for the sake of karma. We already know these issues for the past ten years.
I want to talk about the game itself, not the old controversies that we already acknowledged for so long.
Again, not defending Moonton. I used to be on the hate bandwagon before my original account got lost and hacked.
Everyone knows Moonton copied a lot of things from LoL, HoK, and others and they were sued or paid for the damages.
But at the end of the day, the point of Mobile Legends is to play. Many people dont have access to a PC and be able to buy games, but Mobile Legends provided them that chance.
It's an open secret since then and even now. But they were able to provide entertainment to people. Honestly I'm impressed they made changes and reached 10 years.
Bruh. This is an Open book. It's not even a Secret. Though for the new players in this game, it's a copy of bunch. For us who played 2018 and present, it's an open book. We knew from the start. The Tigreal, Pudge, Nana, and Miya's skill kit and Artwork, 515, Legend Guin, Argus Ultimate (Abaddon from Dota), Minsitthar's Hook (Prisoner 945 from HoN). Angela's Ultimate (Empath), and so much more.
I can Put a lot here if you wanted but it's time consuming.
Ngl I'm still gonna keep playing lmao
I'm too used to mlbb system and I've wasted way too much money in it. Plus I love the game too much. I've never been a fan of LoL wild rift, it just feels so slow and dead if that makes sense. Never even tried out the others, which look even more like rip offs out of other rip offs. Lastly, this is really old news.
Alucard is literally named dante bro. The community is completely aware and moontoon could not care less. And besides, most of the design from 10 years ago are no longer in the game
the side by side comparison is pretty wild...especially w/ how old the original artwork is...if the dates and sources check out...moonton should at least address where the inspiration came from.
Just play the game. It's none of your business. Let the big companies fight it out among themselves. You don't own a stake in any of them, and you shouldn't raise your cortisol levels over this bullshit. They both make billions while you get nothing out of it. You can't even enjoy the game anymore because you're too busy wondering, "Did they steal this? Did they steal that?"
it I didn't get a wrong remembrance, BangBang, honor of kings both made by Chinese company while the front one bans all the Chinese lived in mainland China no matter whether they use VPN or not 😂😂😂
Slide 4/balmond, i looked up the artist name, found their insta @/artby_derricksong, and saw that their most recent arts are mlbb, just thought that it was funny since ig it went full circle huh
league and dota already filed a lawsuit against them in the past, if i remember correctly its because i think either netease or tencent that has something to prove their innocence or an international law that defended their plagiarism and i think because league and dota was both played in pc and has no mobile version, they get to walk freely but have to change the name and design of some character like sun and bruno i think, pls correct me if im wrong i havent searched the issue for a while this just from memory
So we’re gonna ignore the fact that Blizzard and Tencent also did this and more recently? The corporate gaming business in general is corrupted, everyone plagiarizes off of someone else and it’s not funny (praise be to indie/small business companies who are actually creative). Moonton was a lot more prominent in doing so in its early years and are not trying to hide it. They’ve already been through lawsuits regarding those anyways. Nothing new under the sun.
If anything we should be talking about Tencent’s recent altercation with Sony :l
Ngl but almost everyone knows of Mlbb's zero attempt to hide their plagiarisms and this is literally an interaction bait a few years late from an overly woke fella.
