PSA PSA before posting ICE Sightings in Long Beach

1.4k Upvotes

In the Army we used a method called "SALUTE Report" to provide a detailed description of opposing forces, which is applicable to ICE sightings. SALUTE is an acronym for SIZE, ACTIVY, LOCATION, UNIFROM, TIME, and EQUIPMENT. Below I will include a summary of what a SALUTE Report entails and the type of information that will be helpful when posting ICE sightings in Long Beach.

SIZE: This component focuses on quantifying the number of individuals, vehicles, or assets present in the observed area.

ACTIVITY: Describing the actions and behavior of the observed entity, the activity component sheds light on the intentions and purpose behind the observed actions.

LOCATION: Providing precise geographical coordinates or a detailed description of the observed target’s location, this component offers the spatial context necessary for effective decision-making.

UNIFORM: Identifying the affiliation or group to which the observed target belongs, the unit component allows intelligence professionals to categorize and contextualize the observed entities.

TIME: Recording the date and time of the observation, the time component adds a temporal dimension to the intelligence gathered.

EQUIPMENT: Listing the equipment, weaponry, or tools associated with the observed entity, the equipment component offers insights into the capabilities and potential threats posed by the target

PSA ICE RIGHT NOW (4pm) - Loma @ Wilton

50 agents swarmed the block just now.

Update:

I got late to the action. They came in quick. They came in quiet. My neighbors tipped me off right as they were packing up and leaving. It looks like they might have got somebody in a targeted sweep.

But importantly:

  1. Not sure the exact address, but somewhere around 1670 Loma.
  2. No whistles or horns whatseover. Community outreach needs to extend beyond downtown.
  3. The usual black tint SUVs and Pickups and no license plates I could see.
  4. The ones I saw were at least wearing matching clothes. Black shirts, green utility vests, yellow "Police" patches. None of the Gravy Team 6 we see on a lot of videos.

Community Public Comment Voted Down And Then…

Item 25, reducing public comment was approved tonight 5-3 (Kerr, Allen, Duggan against), (Ricks-Oddie not present, again).

And then, the AUDACITY when Zendejas says she needs to DOUBLE her time if they add a clock for the community to see how far over they are on the municipal law that limits them to 5 minutes when only just before she voted to reduce public comment. And she was not even being ironic. She couldn’t understand why the community was stunned into laughing at her.

All I have to say is that recalls require signatures from 20% of the registered voters in each district to get on the ballot.

Community Best neighborhoods for Halloween decorations?

Any neighborhoods in town go all out decorating for Halloween? Thought I’d drive around and check out some cool setups. Love it whether it’s Christmas or Halloween and people make their holiday decor into a big production

Jobs When do you think the job market will get noticeably better in Long Beach?

I know it depends on the sector but I feel like it’s just been getting worse and worse for most people I know the past 3 years or so. Even basic minimum wage jobs never used to be this difficult to get

Parked my bike in my neighborhood down the street from my apartment. Wasn’t taking up too much space on the curb but someone felt the need to write this note and leave it on my motorcycle. For context I’ve also had my bike pushed over by either a car or a person and I’m always aware not to park too close or blocking anything.

EDIT: Just to be clear, I parked my motorcycle how your supposed to legally in CA with your rear wheel touching the curb and at an angle to not impede traffic. I just like to give myself space from other vehicles to not get knocked over AGAIN

Cali is around three years old. She is spayed and she is vaccinated. Cali is looking for her forever home after having a rough life on the streets. She is a very sweet girl. She is talkative. 🖤

Cali was not our typical rescue she had an “owner”, but he kept her outside for majority of her life, not spayed, having many babies until July when we offered a spay appointment and he said yes and to just keep her so we did and she is getting to know more love and care than she did previously.

There is a rehoming fee of $80.

Located in South Gate

Questions Am I in the wrong here?

Post image

I found this note on my car this evening. I was parked in front of a house, not in a red zone, and there (obviously) weren’t any bins when I parked my car. This spot is one I park in fairly regularly and this is the first note I’ve gotten. Their bins were pushed hard against the front of my car. I tried to talk to the folks in the house but they ignored me so I walked away. The note started out ok but ended not very nice.

Medium sized white fluffy curly haired dog near 10th and walnut. Dog appeared to be hurt. Left side of neck had what appeared to be blood stains. Was walking and running fine as I was unable to catch it. Last seen going towards 11th.

Housing Does replacing an interior electrical subpanel require a permit in Long Beach if amperage stays the same?

Hi! I recently hired a licensed contractor to replace an interior electrical subpanel at my condo in Long Beach. The replacement is the same amperage/capacity as the existing panel; there was no increase in service or connected load.

My contractor told me that because this was not an electrical upgrade (for example, increasing to 200A), a permit was not required.

I contacted the City of Long Beach directly and was told that a permit is required, but I'm trying to verify the applicable rule in writing.

I found the City's Express Electrical Permit Information Bulletin (IB-058), which lists E10: “Replace Electrical Subpanel” and specifically describes replacing an existing subpanel with the same ampere rating, number of wires, phase, and location.

Can anyone familiar with Long Beach permitting confirm whether E10 applies to an interior residential/multifamily/aparment subpanel replacement like this?

I'm especially looking for the actual City/code source rather than general advice. Thank you!

Last chance to tell City Council what you think of their Orwellian approach to public comment.

Three members stand against this proposal at last week’s vote:
Duggan
Allen
Kerr

Two more are needed to reject this plan once and for all. If you cannot make it in person, please submit testimony or attend and comment via Zoom on item 25.

This is the last chance to make your voice heard.
