I have an album, with 1000 photos. I want to delete them. I cant select all with a click because google programmers dont know how to programm basic things, but i dont want to slide trough all my photos. And NO: remove album option dont delete the photos, it deletes only the album. I want the photos of the album in the trash

my grandmother died yesterday and i'm trying to find pictures of her. anytime i search her town, it shows me ALL photos taken in a 20 mile radius (because its "nearby") and if i ask the ai "show me my photos of older black women" it says its not allowed to do that? what can i do??

edit: if anyone is wondering, google tells me that in 2015 they kept recognizing black ppl as monkeys if u searched for a monkey so they removed those keywords. thanks for the help. sorry if i angered n-e-1

Hi all,

This is very weird. I have almost 125gb of storage on Google Photos (my subscription is upto 200gb).

I randomly wanted to search for a picture and went to people and pets to select those people and noticed that their albums are not there. I genuinely panicked thinking all their photos were gone, but it seems like the photos and the album is still there (when I search it, I can open it) but I can’t see it on my people and pets.

Is anyone facing this issue?? And does anyone know why this is happening?

I’m scared of losing all photos

Hi! I'm a solo dev and just launched Family Photo Slideshow on Google Play. It plays your photos full screen on an old tablet like a digital photo frame, or casts them to Chromecast / Google TV.

🎁 The first 100 people who comment get a free Premium code (normally $6.99, one-time, no subscription). Premium adds music, Ken Burns motion and video, and removes ads. Codes are valid until OCT 31, 2026.

I'm looking for honest first impressions, especially on these:

1. First 2 minutes: was it clear how to add photos and start a slideshow? Where did you hesitate?

2. Google Photos: did adding photos or a shared album link make sense?

3. Casting: if you have a Chromecast or Google TV, did it connect and play smoothly?

4. Store listing: from the screenshots alone, would you have installed it? What would make you scroll past?

5. Anything that felt broken, slow, or confusing on your device (please mention your phone/tablet model)

Comment below and I'll DM you a code. Please send feedback here in the comments or by DM. I'm not asking for Play Store ratings, just real feedback I can act on.

Drop a link to your own app and I'll give you the same detailed feedback back.

I used the Google Photos app for years and freed up space, so many of my photos are online-only. Samsung Gallery now has built-in Google Photos sync, so I enabled it hoping to drop the separate app.

It's been syncing for weeks, but some photos are still missing from Gallery. They show up fine in the Google Photos app and on photos.google.com.

The scroll bar in Gallery also lists different years than Google Photos does.

What I've tried: toggling sync, updating Gallery, Google Photos and Play services, unrestricting battery use, clearing Gallery's cache, and restarting.

Does Gallery's Google Photos integration show all cloud-only photos, or only some (recent ones, certain folders, photos backed up from this phone)? Has anyone fixed missing photos like this?

Anyone had successful attempts with this option?

Hi! My parents' google account storage was full so I decided to turn off the back up and delete photos from google photos to free up space. I turned back up and syncing off first so their photos wouldn't be deleted from the phone gallery. I then deleted a lot of photos from the google photos app since they were still in the phone gallery.

The next day I opened the phone gallery and saw that all the photos that I deleted in google photos were deleted from the phone gallery as well. They are not in the thrash since I had permanently deleted them from google photos.

I am certain I turned back up and syncing off so I don't know what went wrong. I know there probably won't be a solution but is there any way I can recover these photos? I lost all my photos from 2026 and would love to get them back. My dad's phone is from Xiaomi. Thank you!

TLDR: lost photos in phone gallery after deleting them in google photos even though back up/syncing was turned off. Is there any way I can get them back?

What keys on keyboard can I use to quickly select all photos ?

So I am needing to delete photos from my phone whilst leaving them in the cloud. I would like to be selective about this, to be cautious, without having to delete the whole lot and hoping for the best or going through tens of thousands of photos. I would like to select and just delete videos. after checking. However, once you select videos you can't use "delete from device". Any ideas please?

I have backed up photos onto Amazon and using takeout, but not as easy as you might think to check it has all worked.

Hi folks, need help with the Google photos on iPhone. Even if I try to keep the backups on overnight over a good wifi, when i check in the morning, its just could backup 2-3 photos max. Need help !!

Anyone here please help me!

I recently just switched from iPhone 14 to iPhone 17. I have been using Google Photos to back up my photos for years. The back up button is always on and I could see all my photos backed up on Google Photos when I was still using my old phone.

Now after switching to the new iPhone, I just found out that all the photos of the entire 2024 has completely gone!!! That was the year when I gave birth so all the photos of my pregnancy, my newborn, etc. have gone!!

- Did I always back up the photos? - Yes

- Have I tried checking the Google photos website? - Yes. I checked both the website and the app

- How many Google account do I have? 2 and I have checked both

- Have you tried logged in to Google Photos from my old phone? - Yes.

None of them worked!!!

I don't know why the entire 2024 photos have lost while all other years are still here.

Has anyone has experienced the same before? Has anyone been able to resolved it? I have been so shocked and depressed since I found out. It will break me into pieces if I lost all those photos of my baby. Please help me!!!

Thank you so much!

I turned on backup, to backup the photos I have on my phone for goigle photos all the photos I had vanished and the ones which were in google already started showing up on my phone. Checked bin checked collections did search, called contact centre they sent a link to restore when I clicked on that link it said there are no photos that are available to restore. I feel betrayed that despite of paying for subscription and relying on such a big company like google my photos got vanished. Please help me get those photos they are really important.

I have some photos backed up to Google Photos. Is there any server-side timestamp showing when the photo was first uploaded/backed up that the user cannot edit?

I’m not talking about EXIF/date taken metadata, but a reliable date proving the photo already existed on Google’s servers by that time.

Longtime user of Photos, suddenly encountering a problem I've never had before. Photos that I have backed up manually from other folders, i.e. downloads or messages, are not showing up in the app but they show up fine on the web.

I have checked dates, cleared storage and cache and restarted the app. No luck

Any clue?

Hi guys
So this is really frustrating but i am trying to delete my backed up photos from my google photos cloud but whenever i do that it deletes it from my device too,it sends it in the bin folder.
What i have tried is: keep the backup off on my phone
Cleared cache and undo backup
And one important thing, the backed up photos only shows on web browser and not on google photos app on other device
Thank you

I finally have to add to the complaints about Gemini being forced on Google Photos. It now has completely destroyed the search function for me and the force-feeding of meaningless memories borders on spamming. Suddenly the simplicity of Samsung's Gallery looks appealing. Thanks for corrupting a once valuable product, Google geniuses.

Sometimes I can't play videos I shoot with my phone camera on the app. The app is not frozen, I can still press browse the galleries but nothing happens when I press the play button on all videos. Closing and reopening the app doesn't help.

It happens at random, sometimes I can play them, sometimes I can't. Why and how to fix this?

EDIT: rebooting the phone fixes it usually, but I would really like to avoid having to reboot the phone every time I just want to look at a video I just captured 😂
