r/GamingLaptops now has its own deals site — RGL.deals launches today BETA
UPDATE — August 13, 2026
rgl.deals has grown a bit since I originally posted, so I wanted to give this post a update while it's still in BETA.
The idea is still simple: instead of showing you hundreds of gaming laptops, RGL keeps a smaller shortlist of deals that are actually worth considering.
Every listing is manually checked, with things like price, specs, cooling, display quality, GPU power limits, memory, storage, and overall value taken into account.
A lot of care has also gone into the smaller details. The site is heavily optimized for phones and smaller screens, not just desktop. Filters, comparisons, laptop pages, navigation, and general usability were all designed to work properly on mobile without feeling like a cut-down version of the site.
What's on the site now:
- Curated gaming laptop deals with current and previous prices.
- Filters for price, GPU, CPU, VRAM, RAM, screen size, brand, retailer, and more.
- Gravity Sort, RGL's default value-based ranking.
- Sorting by price, discount, savings, and other options.
- Find a Match for narrowing down laptops based on what actually matters to you.
- Side-by-side comparison for up to three laptops.
- Detailed laptop pages with specs, price history, related models, retailer links, and review links.
- Shareable searches, comparisons, and direct laptop links.
- Mobile-first layouts and controls designed specifically for smaller screens.
- No advertising trackers or marketing cookies. Preferences and saved comparisons stay in your browser.
RGL is meant to be a shortlist, not a giant catalog. If a laptop isn't worth recommending, it doesn't need to be there and that means no huge lists its quality over quantity.
The longer-term plan is also bigger than just deals. RGL is being built into a broader gaming laptop specific place with guides, buying information, laptop data, reviews, and other useful resources all in one place.
Full transparency: Some retailer links are affiliate links. That doesn't affect the listed price or determine which laptops make the shortlist.
RGL currently covers U.S. deals only, with more regions planned later.
It's still beta, so there will be bugs and things that need improving. If you find something broken or have feedback, leave it below any suggestions would be much appreciated thanks.

Discussion How cheap is too cheap?
I’m looking at finally upgrading my older gaming laptop as I want to play some newer titles. I want to spend as little as possible but am trying to not buy something that will become obsolete quickly, as being too frugal has caused this situation with my current laptop and my old PC I built. What type of GPU and how much VRAM will I need to be able to play new releases for the next 3 years? I’m totally okay with medium graphics to start and switching to low as time goes on. And are there any other specs I should try to be conscious of that may hold me back from newer titles in the near future?
I’ll be buying used, so I’m hoping to get something under 1k but the cheaper the better no matter what.
Thanks for the advice in advance, I’m so sick of google AI being the first thing that comes up everytime I try to research something lol

Recommendation Should I Wait Until Black Friday for a Gaming Laptop or buy one now with the increasing prices? ($1,000–$1,250 Budget)
Budget: $1,000–$1,250 USD
Country: United States
Use Case: Gaming, college assignments, programming, and general everyday use.
Preferred Specs / Form Factor: At least 16GB DDR5 RAM, preferably 32GB, an RTX 5060 GPU if possible, at least a 1TB SSD, a good CPU, and a decent display with good battery life.
Portability Needs: I'll carry it to college, so portability and battery life matter, but gaming performance is still a priority.
Notes: My previous gaming laptop broke down, and repairing it would cost too much for a three-year-old machine. I've been using my school's Chromebook for the past month, but I'd like to get a replacement. I'm currently considering a gaming laptop priced around $1,300, but my ideal budget is $1,000–$1,250. Should I wait until Black Friday for a better deal, or buy one sooner? I'd also appreciate recommendations for laptops that offer good performance and value within my budget.

Deal So guys, which one of these would you choose?
Hey folks. A bit of help.
Which one would you buy from these...

Generally speaking, I am using MS Office often as well: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, but i can use them all in dark mode. Reading and stuff... So i was wondering, is OLED really that dangerous for me? What are the chances that i might regret taking it? Basically, all I am doing on my laptop is working of course (MS Office, OriginLab), browsing and reading on the internet, movies, games, basically everything that everyone is doing, but my laptop is working for 10-12 hours per day FOR NOW and for another year for sure. Then things might change. SO what do you think? Which of these laptops would you recommend? Which one would be the best option to buy? And should i go for OLED or IPS if i wanna keep the laptop for 3+ years?
OR, do you think it's better to wait for black friday?
So, to sum things up:
Budget: 2000-2400 euros (with a discount from Black Friday, probably, or the current situation)
Country: Germany
Use Case: Gaming (online games, such as Once Human, for example, and such not too demanding games), movies and videos work (heavily, for scientific work), browsing, of course, and research.
Preferred Specs: 32GB of RAM is a must; 5060 i'd take if you think it's really wise to buy it in my case, but since i currently have 3070, i guess having 5070 now would be a wiser choice. The best CPU i could get, of course, aaaaaaaaaaaand the display is the mystery now, for my usage...
Thank you.
Cheers.

Discussion what usually makes a gaming laptop feel outdated first?
a gaming laptop can still turn on and run perfectly after several years, but that doesn't necessarily mean it still feels good to use
sometimes the gpu becomes the limitation. sometimes 16gb of ram starts feeling restrictive, the battery loses most of its capacity, or the cooling system gets harder to keep under control.
i think there's a difference between a laptop becoming unusable and a laptop no longer being enjoyable for newer games
for those who have owned gaming laptops for several years, what became the first real limitation on yours? i'm more interested in actual aging and wear than in how long a machine can last on paper

Recommendation Ryzen cpu laptop is $900 and intel cpu one is $700, which to buy?
Budget: $1,000
Country: USA
Use Case: Gaming mostly, light video editing
Preferred Specs: minimum rtx 4070 gpu
Notes: n/a
Which should I get? Both Facebook marketplace. Upgrading from a 2020 Asus rog zephyrus g14 2060 Max-Q 65W. I already know fb marketplace is a risky buy but I’m fine with it. My current laptop was bought from fb marketplace and I’ve had it 3 years. Been great.

Recommendation Lenovo LOQ RTX 4060 (No Integrated Graphics Card) Under 80K INR: Good Deal?
Alright, so, I needed the best Gaming Laptop under 80k INR which would be future proof for the next 5 years. I don’t mean I require it for extreme or hard-core gaming but everyday stuff, light programming and casual to moderately high gaming which could run future titles well on moderate or low settings too. I searched lots and concluded this to be the best deal (Lenovo LOQ) and even got an RTX 4060 variant when I was looking out only for 4050s in this range and it's priced 81k but it has no Integrated Graphics Card.
Now future proof is a very vague term and suppose it is not possible for any laptop in this range considering the long period of 5 years, then too, is it worth it? More so comparing to the competitors in this range which I mainly found out to be (all with integrated gpu too):
•HP Victus 15 RTX 4050
•Asus Tuf A15 RTX 4050
•Acer Nitro V15 RTX 4050
Am I making the right choice or should I reconsider?
For the sake of moderators:
Budget: 80K INR
Country: India
Use Case: Light Programming/Everyday Use/Moderate Gaming of Modern Titles
Preferred Specs: RTX 4050-4060 GPU, 16GB-24GB RAM
Notes: The 5 year tag is not as significant as might be visible.

Discussion What CPU/GPU temps do you game at?
What CPU and GPU temps are comfortable gaming temps for you? I.e. temps that don't cause you any anxiety over the thing burning down? What's your typical CPU and GPU temp for a typical gaming session?
I might be overthinking it because one of my laptops "burned down" in the past, I think it was consistently thermal throttling and it was almost a decade ago, so different hardware gen obviously.
Nowadays I try to keep things cooler, no more than 80-81C for the CPU and ideally under 80 for the GPU. I have custom profiles that enforce power limits and obviously have undervolted the CPU on top. And when things get toasty still, I turn on the laptop stand cooler on top of this.
But I'm curious to hear what other people target in terms of CPU/GPU temps.

Discussion One last comparison before I buy, a16 pro or Neo 16s?
I was just about ready to buy myself a refurbished Neo 16s AI (5070ti, 32gig, 1tb, u9) off the acer eBay for 1650
but Walmart now has a sale for a gigabyte a16 pro (5070ti, 32gig, 1tb, i7 ) for 1450 ish
my budget was already around 1700 so are the advantages of the Neo 16s worth the extra 200? Or should I take advantage of the deal and get myself the new a16?
Relevant notes:
- I’m trying to make this last 4 years of college
- no matter which one I’ll be getting a llano v10/v12 cooling pad
- I’m not sure I’ll be pushing max graphics on AAA games (I’ve only played on console up at this point) but I’ll definitely try at some point
- I know for a fact the a16 is locked to 115w but I’m getting conflicting information on the Neo 16s
- I know the Neo 16 will come with eBay’s 2 year warranty, and with the a16 I can buy the Walmart 4 year warranty for 110 ( I’m not sure how gigabytes own warranty works )
- I’ll still be using the laptop for beginner level game dev and 3d modeling as well
- and last I’ll probably be racking up hours in spacewar

Showcase Just got my dream machine
After a few months of saving up, I’ve decided to go for the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 18 (long and weird name if you ask me)
However despite it being a huge desktop replacement weighing in at more than 3kg, it’s still a portable monster.
It’s almost top of the line config with:
Core Ultra 9 275HX
64GB of RAM
RTX 5090
4TB of SSD
I needed a powerhouse to run local AI models, do software development and heavy gaming in preparation for DLSS 5.
I spend a lot of time in a campervan (I work as a race car driver) and abroad so a laptop was a must.
My other options were obviously the Alienware which I opted out due to the price and availability issues, and the MSI Raider which I crossed off due to build quality.
After a few days with this laptop I can say that I made the right choice and I am happy.
Despite it being mostly made of premium plastic, the build quality and design is to my liking.
Nonetheless I can recommend it for those who want the best in terms of performance, and have experience carrying heavy stuff on their back.

Discussion Acer Aspire 7 users, need your help
Recently got me an aspire 7, core 7 240h,55W 4050, 16gb(upgraded to 24), 2x 512 NVMe. Its cpu is sitting at 90+°C every time I game. Even just valorant at high settings it was sitting at like 95°C average, and it has hit 100C occasionally. Gpu seems to settle at 80C so that looks fine(even in Hogwarts legacy, high). Both NVMe's around 70 max iirc (during heavy file transfer). Cpu does chill at 50-60 during web browsing and media use. Does your laptop also do this? Is it normal? Have u done anything to fix it? Need i worry? This is my first gaming laptop so I'm kinda worried rn. Advice is much appreciated.

Discussion Need help choosing a reliable RTX 5050/5060 laptop under ₹1.2 lakh for AI/ML and full-stack development
Hey everyone!
I'm planning to buy a laptop in India with a budget of ₹1,00,000–₹1,20,000. I've been researching for a while, but many of the configurations I've considered are unavailable, so I need advice from people with real-world experience.
My requirements:
GPU: RTX 5060 preferred, RTX 5050 as the minimum.
High GPU TGP and a MUX switch.
Display: 100% sRGB or better, IPS/OLED, minimum 144Hz.
Screen size: 15–16 inches.
RAM: Minimum 16GB, preferably upgradeable.
Good thermals, build quality and after-sales service.
My usage: I'm an AI & Data Science student. I'll use the laptop for Python, machine learning, AI development, MERN stack, Next.js, Docker, multitasking and gaming. I want it to last at least 4–5 years.
I'm considering options from ASUS TUF, Lenovo LOQ and HP OMEN, depending on the exact configuration and price. I don't want an HP Victus.
My concerns:
Are there genuine, recurring motherboard issues with particular Lenovo LOQ generations or configurations?
How reliable are the newer ASUS TUF F16 models?
Is an RTX 5060 worth choosing over an RTX 5050 for my workload?
Which models offer a good display and high GPU power within my budget?
Which laptop would you personally buy for long-term use?
Please recommend the exact model number and configuration, ideally with a link to the Indian listing. If you own one of these laptops, I'd especially appreciate your experience with thermals, reliability and service.

Discussion what should I do!!??
okay so this might sound REALLY weird, but I am extremely picky with gaming laptops durability, to the point where I start attempting torsional twists and so much more, although NONE of it is actually in my use case I just sit at home and play, but I just hate that fragile feeling, I've lived with a hp victus 16 rx5500m for like 1 year that I got used to use And oh god, It constantly made me hate it because of how fragile and weak it was, And now it's time for me upgrade and I have like returned 1 laptop already (rog strix g16), and I have Lenovo legion 5i currently still in return window and HEAVILY deciding if to keep it or not because It still gives me that fragile feeling, and since it's OLED and thin, the display becomes a concern for me (apart from that, the hardware deal it self is pretty nice, it costed me about 1550 Canadian dollars for OLED display and 5060 and i7 14700hx, Though It doesn't matter), Now What should I really do, I've the budget of about 2000 Canadian dollars (1400 USD), black Friday is close too, And I just want something REALLY solid in build quality, obviously not those rugged tough books, I want something that can GAME, Without me feeling like it's some fragile tech, What are some of the options? have you guys experienced this too? What laptops did y'all end up getting?

Support Lenovo legion pro 5i 2025 vs Asus strix g16 Intel 2025 Both with 5070ti
Lenovo legion pro 5i 2025 vs Asus strix g16 Intel 2025
Both with 5070ti
Im honestly confused
Asus got btr design and cooling
Whereas the legion got OLED and slick design which might be helpful for me to bring that to presentations etc
Heard Lenovo got some thermal issues , the keyboard gets hot
I'll mostly use it for coding, content watching and some games myb 1-2max daily
I wanna hear from both users ,help me to choose one ,it's so confusing

Support New Victus froze or got stuck while exiting the game.
Hey people I was playing resident evil 2 on my new Victus and the game ran very smooth for the next 2 hours but when I was on the screen where it shows start, quit, load etc I clicked on quit and it directed me to the screen (attached the photo above) and froze, I pressed alt f4, clicked windows key to close game from taskbar but nothing happened after that I had to force shutdown it by long pressing power button. Why could that have happened. I was using a laptop stand, AC was at 25 degree C and I also directed a stand fan towards it for cooling.
Plz reply, thanks.

Discussion Worth it?
Is this worth it for the price. I’m mainly playing Fortnite and some story games like rdr2, Detroit became human, etc on external 1080p 240hz monitor. But as you can see by my monitor choice I’m focusing mainly on Fortnite and stress achieving 240 stable fps.
