So I was grinding up some ap in the mt. And I ran back to the merchant to get things and I was running back towards the encounter when and I know it's my fault wakka and a stone ball and got confused with everyone else and killed my team and now I have to start all over ugh

Hello my fellow Yevonites! It’s been a minute since my last update, but I’m very proud to announce the latest feature of FFX Companion for iOS.

Included in this update is a modern, interactive sphere grid for both the standard and expert pathways. From here you can explore every node, search, plan out how to maximize stats and find the shortest path between two nodes.

This was a grind (pun intended) to give you guys & girls something worth using, but I’m very happy the way it turned out.

The app is still very much donation supported, but I have now included a one time purchase option which gives you unlimited sphere grid edits and path calculations. In the future there will be many more features, and this lifetime purchase will cover every upcoming feature forever.

The sphere grid grind is over!! It took what felt like forever but I got there. Very time consuming but also surprised at how rare this is...Just a few more trophies to go now!

I can't remember if it was actually missable or I just couldn't figure out how to get back in there, but it scarred me. I have wanted to play again, but that and the lightning bolt boogie always have me thinking twice lol.

2. Kill Greater Sphere, get luck spheres.

Repeat steps 1 and 2.

I'm at this phase right now. Something about getting high, listening to some music, and getting these grinds done is cathartic.

What was the most memorable grind for you all?

Hey friends. Recently playing through the game for the first time in years. Having a blast this time around. I wanted to ask some questions to see if I could clear up a few details?

This playthrough, I noticed in the beginning how the characters follow the teachings pretty blindly and without question, and Tidus is the only voice of “why?”. Once Auron shows up, there is suddenly a second voice. Not immediately against the teachings, but a strong voice of “the church is corrupt and the pilgrimage is what matters”.
He doesn’t let the church stop them. He says they’ll fight the church if they have to. He says the traitor status doesn’t matter. Auron is insistent that no matter what choices the party makes, the only thing that matters is getting Yuna to Zanarkand. He says it’s because he promised Braska and Jecht, but once we get to Zanarkand, we see that Auron was the main voice saying the pilgrimage is wrong. So…why did he want this? Was his plan to get them to Zanarkand with the hope that by the time they got there, they would see the truth and make the right decisions? When Seymour is revealed to be evil, Auron is the first to say “to hell with tradition. We protect Yuna.” When Yuna says there will be no choice, Auron is the first one to stand up and be ready to take down one of the highest members of the church.
There’s the quote from Jecht about “thinking of something” to break the cycle, and we know that Auron rode Sin to get to Zanarkand, which was presumably Jecht/Sin that he did that with.
So..was there a plan? When Jecht became Sin, did he learn the truth that no one knew? Did Jecht/Sin somehow talk to Auron and tell him the plan? Was the plan made by just Jecht and Auron? Were the Fayth in on it and that’s why the kid talks to Tidus and says “So. It Begins.” Was the entire party simply the chosen pawns of a larger scheme by the tired fayth to finally do what they knew needed to be done?
Any thoughts, speculations, or established canon that I don’t know about would be appreciated!

First time attempting to grind out for the endgame. I have acquired and fully powered kimari/yuna/rikkus CW and have auron/tidus CW. Have most of the crests and sigils (haven't done the chocobo race/lightning dodge) currently attempting the captures in omega ruin while sphere grid grinding.(have not explored past save point) Have got all of the airship locations unlocked. I'm assuming that once my captures are completed that the monster arena is probably my best bet for level grinding, but from what I remember of those fights from my first playthrough they were ROUGH. What's my best course of action to prepare for those arena fights

I was convincing myself (apparently) that I completed the game.

Well, not even close...

I'm afraid X-2 and XII save games might show me the same conclusion.

I also didn't know I had FF 1, 2 and 7 for NES 😛

I saw a video of tidus with a young white haired auron and some little fairy thing. There was like a copy of Yuna there made by pyreflies and he’s like talking to her and she tells him a story or something. Does anyone know what I’m talking about? What’s it from?

Hey y’all. I am starting to stat max for the 100th time and it just dawned on me…why should I stay max magic? I always max it out at 255, but is there any real need to do so. I use all physical attacks and don’t use Pain often enough to make a difference.

So, I am wondering what y’all do with magic in stat maxing.

Had the time of my life. But it was EMPTY. Not a great sight to see.

Has anyone attempted solo runs? I'm planning on doing one for every character and thought I'd start with the character who's in the party the most and it definitely made me think a certain way and some of the RNG for drops in this run was seriously bad which didn't help the run but overall was pretty fun. Have any of you done something similar?

Happy 25th anniversary!

I have a 3 year old and I am not gonna play Onimusha infront of him for obvious reasons so I thought I'd show him my favourite game of all time, Final Fantasy X. He was really invested, sat next to me as we watched with some level of understanding. We got to the night before leaving Besaid so I thought I'd show him "Stay away from the summoner" which he found hilarious so we did it 10 times in a row. Now every now and again he tells me to stay away from the siminer and I love it. I hope he grows to love this game as much as me.

Ok been playing this game since 2001 but I’ve been really focusing on the technicalities of the plot and I want make sure I have this right or if not let me know your opinion.

• Jecht interacts with Sin by swimming out at sea one day. We know dream zanarkand is a physical location so this tracks and with that it also makes sense that sin was close in proximity to dream zanarkand, given that it exist to protect both dream zanarkand and yu yevon who is summoning dream zanarkand. I understand Sin having a natural inclination to not harm dream zanarkand people due to its nature as a protector of dream zanarkand, so i understand why Jecht and tidus were unharmed by it. Bahamut’s fayth mentions something about how both Jecht and Tidus were touched by Sin which is how they became physical people in Spira. I’m not entirely sure how this works or if maybe we can assume that any other (dream of the fayth zanarkand type) person would not be able to make it out of dream zanarkand unless they were touched by Sin, despite dream zanarkand having a physical presence on the world. I don’t really have an issue siding with game logic here, just want to make sure there isn’t something I’m missing.

• did Jecht destroy dream zanarkand on purpose? Do we think he was getting the same visits from the little purple boy that tidus was? I don’t think jecht knew the nature of his true existence until after he became Sin- this also makes sense in my head as to why Braska’s calm was so short because his fayth was lowkey an aeon already. I don’t Jecht got those visits since it seemed he didn’t know he was a dream too. However it makes me wonder if the fayth intentionally asked tidus to put an end to their dreaming because they were the only two left after sin destroyed dream zanarkand. Maybe I misread that or it doesn’t work like that.

• what was the point of sin spawn? I know there’s a bunch of random shit atop Sin but the crusaders made such a big deal of the “sin always returns for its spawn” bit during operation mi’ihen only for us to never again encounter a sin spawn. I understand it being just an early game thematic device for boss fights but just wondering if there’s more significance to it.

• similarly, why do summoners perform sendings, from an in universe perspective? Summoners have obvious interaction with souls via the fayth, is it implied that they use this same power to guide souls to the farplane? I think it’s established that this isn’t a yevon specific power which is why I assumed it had to do with the fayth which is also non yevon (in terms of power source not accessibility).

• lastly, towards the end of the game it’s established that a few characters outside of the main party know about yu yevon (I’m thinking Mika and Yunalesca). Does really anyone other than tidus know what yu yevon is summoning/the fayth in gagazet/ dream zanarkand? Some people know about yu yevon but not what he’s up to other than Sin? Do they think Sin exists for Yevon religion reasons? Just curious.

Hey crew, I think I’ve gotten to almost the end of the game and I’ve almost entirely sped my way through this, there are probably more areas around this game and way more stuff to do but I think I over assessed the way I should play this game and done fucked up my game by being wayyy to weak for the normal mobs.

Every guide or reddit post I read all said the same thing “Do not grind until VERY endgame” and “Just rush to Endgame”. Well it seems I’m at a point where I just don’t know what I can do at this point and I need help.
I’ve not captured a lot of the bosses because fighting them was hard enough task as it was cause I was weak and Kimari atm is my only capturer.

Last thing I just did was go back and get Yojimbo and I’m at Calm Lands right now.
