Opinion EU Parliament Greens Co-President slams Trump's Russian diesel plan: "We sanction Putin. Trump fuels him. That's not allyship"
instagr.amNicolae Stefanuta, Co-President of Greens Group in the EU Parliament just posted a message attacking Trump’s plan to buy Russian diesel.
Today EU imposed the biggest package of sanctions against Russia since the invasion of Ukraine.
I think he phrased it exactly like most of us europeans think: it’s not allyship when “an ally” does things behind our backs…

Hungary to unlock EUR 4.2 billion in EU funds: Brussels ends long-running dispute!
The EU Council has approved the European Commission’s proposal to end the rule-of-law procedure against Hungary, opening the way for EUR 4.2 billion in frozen funding and restoring access to Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe for foundation-run universities.
Hungary is set to regain access to EUR 4.2 billion (more than HUF 1,500 billion) in frozen EU funding after member states approved the closure of a long-running procedure over concerns about the rule of law and the protection of the bloc’s financial interests.

Opinion The EU Must Hold Meta and X Accountable for Letting Bots Turn Social Media Into Propaganda Machines
The EU needs to hold Meta and X accountable for their failure to take action against bots and coordinated propaganda campaigns.
The recent Ukrainian strike on Yandex servers makes it clear how significant the bot problem has become. These platforms have allowed propaganda to spread on a massive scale, raising serious questions about whether they have taken sufficient precautions to prevent their services from being exploited.
The EU needs to investigate this urgently. These networks could have influenced elections in the EU, and they could do so again in the future. Meta and X should face meaningful fines and be required to change their practices.
Everyone seems happy now that many of these bots are gone. But why is nobody asking who was responsible for allowing them to operate in the first place? The platforms that failed to act should not escape accountability simply because the problem has temporarily been reduced.
At this point, these platforms are becoming less like social media and more like propaganda media. The EU needs to enforce its rules and make sure this cannot continue.
