Ballpoint pen and cheap acrylic paint markers.

I was inspired by a combination of illuminated manuscripts and folk art. The scene is some world building I’m doing for the novel I’ve been working on for 800,000 years. I’ll do anything but just write it, I guess lmao

I'm not looking to replicate it exactly, just hoping for the proportions to look correct. I've been working on this for hours but something just isn't clicking. I feel like I made the face too wide to begin with and I don't want to erase the entire thing. Any ideas?

I'm not done with it yet so please try not to be mad at me for bsing the hair part 😭

I was bored at school so I started drawing. I'm happy how it turned out. Might start doing this more often! 😄

Was looking at my previous posts of information and decided to take a bit of it into consideration, INCLUDING the one who said draw in pen! Me and my friends were playing a Dandy's World run so I decided, why the fuck not? And drew the toons i saw!!

It got me killed tho cause i got more focused on drawing but hey, easiest thing I could draw right now. Gonna practice anatomy next/continue drawing everything I see in pen. :3

seeking crit 60th set of studies

Thumbnail

The first and third are pose studies, the second is a motion study, and the last two are value studies.

GOD THIS ONE WAS HARD! I had a lot of troubles getting the muscles right and the bend in his torso. It still looks off, so any criticism is welcomed. It could also be because my lines look too messy.

I took a break from the value studies and decided to do some motion/action studies. I'm still a bit unsure where to draw the lines and how to do them. I have an idea of what to do, But not how to do it.

I hadn't really done a foreshortened pose in a while and it shows. There's issues with the face, collar bone, the legs, etc (mostly the torso area)... I need to do some more of this to improve them.

I think I'm gonna try a value study with an arm next. But I'm hoping to try using color again soon.

I don't know if it's my values not contrasting enough or contrasting too much or the shape of the shadows look off, but I feel like I could've done a better job. I tried doing a combination of hard a soft cel shading, but I think I got too careless with the blending tool. Also, I’m getting eye surgery tomorrow, so I’m probably not gonna post for a while. Let me know what you think.
